Projector Headlight assembly w/led turn, signals..

1- Headlight full of moisture and needs to be resealed and have viewed u-tube to do this

2 - main issue is part of the LED turn signal (one row) doesn't function... so that side blinks faster.. haven't found a fix other than complete replacement of the assembly? Can I just assume the excessive moisture over the years has damaged the connection inside the assembly and that the only fix is opening it up and re-sealing the assembly after the electrical fix or complete replacement?

3 - anyone try an upgrade 9005 (??) low beam bulb with success?

You may be able to change blink rate by adding a resistor of correct value. Since you've lost some of the load that was there. Adding in a resistor in line with the turn signal on that side may cure fast blink. Hope this helps on the fast blink, and you may see were the break in circuit is once you open it up.

I cured most of the moisture problem in my left headlite by drilling a small drain hole in the lowest corner of the lamp assembly and drilling a vent hole on top. Hi tech its not, but it helped.

I ran CSP mini LEDs in the low/high positions of my OEM projector housings, as well as OEM fogs, and the light output was great. No wild blinding for oncoming drivers and vastly improved illumination for me.

I had them in the classifieds, but the ad got deleted when a purge was done. Still have them for sale thou.

My OEM projectors are not a 9005 low beam. But if they were, 9011 would be the upgrade.

And a 9005 doesn’t have a glare cap (paint) on the tip so it shouldn’t be used in a fog if that fog doesn’t have a glare shield in it. On the other hand a 9155 is a logical upgrade to the 9145 and is appropriate for fog light use.

What year is your truck?

From my 2018’s manual.

Nice thing about the bulbs I ran is it was the same bulb for 9005 and 9145 applications.
