It’s hard to believe that our “Part I” story is just a week old.

It is also hard to believe all of the mind-numbing chatter that makes the social platforms sooooo good at spreading mis-information.

When you see/hear credible information it should be shared. To the point: Take some time and read “2025 Ram/Cummins: Sifting Through – Part I.

New information: Part numbers for the new cartridge-style oil filter are forthcoming from Mopar and Cummins. Ditto for the part number for the two-stage fuel filter kit.

Stay tuned for further updates.

Credible information: Thank you "Diesel85"
Check out the oil filter location on the left side of the engine.

And, yes, looking at the bullet-point summary of the pod cast with "Mr. X" (still kinda hokey name), the the engine looks to be entirely new. It will be interesting to see how many (if any) part numbers were carried over from the existing 6.7 engine.

I am thinking the only similarity is the displacement...6.7-Liters.

Diesel85, thanks for sharing.
Watching through, the "Mopar Insider" guy doesn't have too much to say about the engine (4:36 area).

Styling-wise, the exterior is discussed at length. My take, we still have the same cabin and rear box, but new front sheetmetal and grille. Frame changes...not yet determined.

At 14:30 in the video I noted "Total Wine" reflection in the truck's window.
We can have fun making all kinds of conclusions from that observation. (Chuckle, chuckle.)

What do we call this refresh?

Got it, a 2025 Ram Heavy Duty

Is it a 5th Generation for us?
A 4.75 (or something cute like that)?

What does the TDR audience think?

My take: I will take an ugly truck as long as the engine and powertrain are robust and powerful.

In my books, I'm at the age where looks don't matter. Give me a truck that will do 300k with normal maintenance schedules.

I will be studying hard on these here forums and reading up on the TDR regarding the engine and transmission.

A few years ago, 2021 I think, Cummins signed an agreement with Daimler to supply medium duty engines post 2027 once the Detroit DD8 ends production. The oil filter, EGR setup, and intake manifold look very similar in design to the current DD8 engine, I wonder if some of that project has crossed over into this engine.

The sensor in the intake where the left side CAC pipe connects looks like a mass air flow sensor

Looks like the inlet NOX sensor module is mounted on top of the EGR cooler

Crankcase breather looks like it may be similar to the medium duty B6.7 and L9 that is maintenance free (No filter to change)
