Good-bye EcoDiesel, Hello Cummins

I like how ram is adding in the $12595.00 for the h.o. Diesel engine when it is not an option and is in the main included features. $13k off immediately in the negotiation process. Funny observation on my part: my truck has 12600 miles today …..just like new. Towing duties going up later this year. Not going to need a new hd anytime soon.

Where do you see that the 6.7 is an “included feature”?

I am referring to the practice of listing the base price on the sticker with the engine/drivetrain. I know they have done this for years and is a pet peeve of mine, nothing more. $50+ grand for a truck with no drivetrain would be silly, now wouldn’t it? Base price should show for the model should reflect base engine , then they should list optional engine and price. Window stickers of yesteryear used to be broken down that way. Be critical all you want to but it is just a bit deceptive and the way that they have gotten away with vastly inflating prices. Nobody is losing any money by selling at 13k off msrp, period.

Are you referring to this on the same MSRP sheet?

Both places show the 6.7 I6 Cummins HO Turbo Diesel Engine.

Doesn't make sense to me. Almost sounds like a person could pay twice for the diesel.

But the base price is with the base engine on that truck, the diesel isn’t the base engine.

The area between base price and standard equipment is “as-built” it’s not part of the standard equipment.

I may have missed it, is there a 50 gallon fuel tank option for 2025. Previous years offered 50 gallon tank option on the long bed crew cab configuration.

Service costs are what they are; there are options out there much less than OEM that work similarly. DIY isn't too hard and transmission shops can do them much 'cheaper' than dealers, for what it's worth.

At any rate the ZF8 has been AMAZING in my PW. If the slushbox behind the diesels does as well it'll be interesting.

I am merely pointing out that window stickers used to be less confusing by listing base truck and features, then all options were listed and priced out accordingly. Let’s just say it this way, ram window stickers suck. Ford has a much cleaner, easy to follow, sticker lay out. I still negotiate up from the basement price(I am not worried about “offending” anybody or salesmen scoffing at my offers),not down from msrp.

I don’t know about the Ram ones being confusing, they are laid out pretty simply and easy to read. Very similar to Ford, with only minor formatting differences.

The Ram sticker does exactly what you say they used to… so what exactly are you having difficulty with?

Seems like you’re making a mountain out of a mole hill on this.
