So I had a P245C before but when i bought the truck the EGR service was due, I finally got around to cleaning it this weekend. But now i have a 245a and c when i clear the codes with a basic reader the 245c comes right back,
I also had a P4 something related to egr but I test drove it once up...
I have an 08 6.7 auto 4x4 with 165000 apparently non of the EGR service was done, I replaced the filter and am going to clean the cooler this week.
Ask me how i know this? well turns out my CEL light is burnt out... I had an issue out of town and limped it home and pulled codes history and...
ok So i found the source of the mystery chime... apparently my CEL does not come on. It looks like light bleeds over from the abs light at start up. I had an issue with running rough and and white smoke a week ago. I was able to get the truck home and finally had a chance to hook up the code...
i had checked the code numbers, I haven't cleaned the EGR valve or cooler i replaced the ccv and fuel filter 3k ago. I don't know if the codes are related. I was thinking it may be the turbo speed sensor causing the performance issue

planning on cleaning it next just was not sure if it was normal to have oil in the filter. I know on gas motors when the PVC is not changed out regularly they can get clogged with oil it can act the same way. (new to diesels)
