Hi, I have a 99 2500 and it has it's issues that will soon need to be adressed. I am no master mechanic, and have no diesel experience... but I am not afraid to tear into my truck... if I have the right guide. I have picked up the hayes manual which is as genaric as they come with all dodge ram...
.
Well. . good advice. I tried pulling the fuse and my problem is now gone!! I am glad to know now that it for sure is a problem with the ABS sensor. Now... I noticed that my Speedometer doesn't work and my mileage isn't going up either? Looking in my manual, it doesn't say anything...
Mine Too.
Hey, mine does the same. In fact I when I was first learning of it's bipolar characteristics I set the cruise at 65 and let it go... well it took off 68. . 70. . 75. . 77... and then flashing red and blue lights. . cost me $130. 00 and about $400. 00 a year in insurance. So if anyone...
Hello, I am having the same problem w/ my 99. It is usually when I am making a right turn and trying to stop, the pedal just pushes back and becomes rock hard. The dealer told me it was a kinked brake line w/ a bad ball joint/wheel bearing combo and that it was moving around and causing the abs...
ABS sensor question?
Thanks everyone for your replies, I do have a question about the sensor. I know everyone is saying that the wheel bearing can't be at fault if the sensor is not reading correctly. But. . isn't the sensor stationary and the wheel is moving, so if the wheel bearing where shot...
Problem Still Not fixed!!
Well I spent $700 on new ball joints, a new brake line, and the rotor/hub/bearing assembly, because it's only sold as one piece(thanks dodge). My braking problem of ABS kicking on when braking and turning right is still there. My mechanic now says that the left wheel...
thanks
Thank you everyone for your response... I think that the majority rules to sell it. I agree. . now that I know what's wrong with it and I know what to look for in other trucks... I can use better judgement when checking out newer trucks. I will be more careful next time, thanks again...
Here is where I am at. I bought a 99 Ram CTD in July with 65K on it from a dealer for $18,900. I took it in a few weeks later for a clicking in the steering wheel that I had to fight with the dealership to cover the cost, it ended up needing a whole new steering column because the bearings where...
You know... when I first got the truck, last July. . I asked the dealer why it looked like something was leaking under the front end? They told me that diesel's just do that and that leaking and some sludge is perfectly normal. . Is this a load of BS or could this be part of the braking/power...
I accidentely posted this in the engine and transmission section already, but realized that it belongs here. . sorry.
Hello, I am new here. . and a (within a year) first time diesel owner. I have a 99 2500 Quad Cab/Long Bed. It's my understanding that the brakes are powered by a hydro...
Hello, I am new here. . and a (within a year) first time diesel owner. I have a 99 2500 Quad Cab/Long Bed. It's my understanding that the brakes are powered by a hydro booster that runs off of the power steering. My problem is that when I am turning the wheel and braking, as in pulling into a...
