It does. There are two versions of the ZF 8-speed currently used in the Ram 1500s. THe 8HP45 with the Pentastar V6 is rated for 332 lbft of torque while the Hemi gets the higher capacity 8HP70 which is good for 516 lbft. http://www.allpar.com/model/ram/dodge/2013-ram-powertrain.html

My Hemi 8-speed is as smooth as glass and averages a solid 19. 5mpg (hand calculated). It would be awesome behind the diesel.

5 years/100K miles on powertrain and 3/36 on everything else.

Ram needs to put a heavy duty version of the 8-speed ZF transmission behind the Cummins. The one in my new truck is AMAZING! 20mpg all the time, smooth as glass, and it pulls like a BULL!

The only bad thing about the DSG is that you have to change the fluid every 40,000 miles. It's a difficult procedure best done by the VW dealer and it's not cheap: around $400. Get a stickshift or a slushbox.
