Yes using tow haul, but on the '05 tow haul only changes the shift points. It cannot be used to lock out OD.
And yes, only seeing those temps when TC unlocked. At highway speeds in 4th gear TC locked all is fine.

I'm probably around 9K loaded. I wouldn't have been concerned at 200 like you but when I hit 220-230 every now and then I get uneasy. Especially since the truck is 20 years old. I would just hate to be in the middle of nowhere and have the transmission or TQ crash.

Not to beat this dead horse, but I pulled the side plug and got no overflow, and the level was still perfect at the hole. The only explanation I've come up with is the fact that when I drained the fluid it was still warm from a 30 minute drive. Normally I drain it cold, but completely.

Not sure what you mean by the dime, but if they are used that means they are old and the plastic switches have deteriorated. Unfortunate they don't break, the upper and lower part of the switch body separate, probably due to heat.
