I went ATS with no regrets. I've had some electrical issues, but not the transmission's fault. It's inherent in a 2nd generation - electrical gremlins due to electrical noise. Thing is solid, no leaks, and the service from the shop that installed it is great. A lot of folks bad mouth them, but I'm happy.
HELP! '00 4x4' ATS Stage 2 transmission installed @ 2 years and 30,000 miles ago. ATS shop replaced gov transducer and solenoid they said @ 2months ago when transmission was in what appeared to be limp mode - stuck in 3rd gear. Fixed and ran great. Now it's back in the same mode out of the blue it seems...
I'm with Regcabguy - Defiant Truck Products is the way to go. Light but strong. I just got back from a hunt. On the way in, @ 60 mph we hit a deer broad-side just to the right of mid-front end on my truck. Didn't hurt a thing except some smudge marks on the light bar! And a broken right signal...
Need advice please. Just ordered new 2012 DRW 3500 4x4. I asked for 4. 10 gears but all I plan to tow is our 35' toy hauler, weighs 8735, empty. I won't tow but occasionally. Anyone think I should go with 3. 73's instead? I'd like to get decent mileage when not towing... . thanks.
If it's leaking or bad, or looks bad - I recommend go with the Borgeson. I replaced my '00 box and the steering is a world apart from the stock box! Very tight ratio too, makes for fun/tight driving... easy to replace.
I'm curious RSamples - did you get any check engine light??? I'm wanting a new 3500 DRW, but dragging my feet - the '00 is still running fine getting great mileage! When I get a new truck I want to plug the EGR and remove the DPF... . !
Check out Defiant Light Bars - search for "Defiant Light Bars". Way lighter than the Road Armor and other look-a-likes, but still offers protection. I really like mine. Very inexpensive too, except for the shipping - already powder coated black and you tell him what lights you'll run and they'll...
Where did you purchase the "HD" suspension links? I just purchased a 2012 toy hauler, 5th wheeler and want to plan accordingly, for proactive/preventive maintenance. Regards.
I just got some PIAA 580s and WOW! Pricey @$230 bucks @ 4-wheel parts, but I really like them - great quality! Way bright w/a nice beam spread. The PIAA wiring kit they came with was great quality and super easy to install. On light bar - N-Fab and others are nice, but I found Defiant Light...
