So I'm about to bite the bullet on new tires & thought I may as well get new wheels too. I really have always hated the way the stock ones looked on my rig. So I really like cheap looking utilitarian wheels, always have. I'm not to fond of shiny stuff. I love the way the spare looks. So my...
There is a much simpler way to do this- wire up a solenoid under the black injector pump cover. It would function just like those fast idle solenoids on older carburetors. I bought a kit do do just this from a guy (I think his name was Harold) on this board a few years back. It took 15 minutes...
A more accurate analogy might be if you were a big oil company making record profits, getting HUGE tax breaks, while owning the ***** of many politicians & a devastating natural disaster came along would you-
1. Yell Yeeee Haw at the top of your lungs & raise prices just as fast as you can...
Just to put things in perspective-
The day all hell broke loose & fule prices jumped up 30 or more cents a gallon the local gas stations said they had to raise their prices to cover what it costs to replace the fuel in their tanks. Thus we all get nailed. Once it costs less to replace their...
I have a Leer contractors cap (lift gates on side as well as back) on my rig. Overall it is decent but there are a few problems. First is cosmetic, it doesn't quite look like it fits- it sticks out on the rear corners more than I would like. However I never cared enough to try & move the cap...
I believe the Cummins ISB was introduced in 1983 but first installed in a Dodge in 1989. However in the late '70s Dodge did use a small Chrysler/Mitsubishi diesel in some pick ups. 103 HP @3700 rpm & 168 ft lbs TQ @ 2200 rpm.
It was a few years ago when I did this-
But I believe I used the wire for a power antenna to power the little speaker amp. If you search the archives you will find the info you need. It is simply a matter of attaching two wires.
I fell down the stairs yesterday because I washed some greasy parts off on the stairway. As I was sitting on my butt at the bottom of the stairway, I remembered- I did the same thing last year & made a mental note not to was greasy stuff on the stairs. I'll probably do it again next year too.
One thing I have noticed which has not been mentioned-
I have Westach gauges in a black gauge pod on the top of my dash. When they bake in direct sunlight all day the gauges become less accurate. Remember the temps can get really hot in there & electricity flows differently under different...
In a pinch I once made a flare in a brake line with a rock & a stick. The craziest thing was it never leaked. I now own a fancy new fangled double flaring tool but the rock was a little easier.
I got these-
http://www.visionviewmirrors.com/extendable_replacement_mirrors.htm
And I just installed them a couple days ago. There is a lot of info here on them. I got them because I tried towing with the regular mirrors & just couldn't see anything plus I dig the way they look. They cost...
I had all kinds of problems with my Westach. Like CORed said, keep it clean & check your wires & splices. You may have to do this several times before it starts to act right. I also have a $10 NAPA gauge permanently mounted under the hood for piece of mind when my gauge acted crazy.
I've had a NAPA mechanical oil pressure gauge as a backup for my Westach fuels pressure gauge. One is pre filter one is post filter & it has worked like a charm for at least 6 months so far. It also saved me a heart attack a couple times when the electric sending unit got all squirrely on me...
