I've installed a Vulcan big line kit and a new lift pump. I'm seeing 13psi cruise, and 10 WOT with no load. I've seen higher on this board. Are my pressures normal? Should I be concerned?
Thanks for all the great information guys...
That was the problem. I did not realize that I needed to select the sender. . I got the 30 psi. sending unit. With the new Vulcan kit, I am seeing a solid 13psi... . can't pull it below 11 wot. Actually, the fuel pressure moves very little unless I really get on it... I guess my reading are...
What I meant was the gauge does not move from 62... . I relocated the stock lift pump with the vulcan kit, and I put on a new injection pump. I don't see any way this set-up could push 62psi. , could it? Maybe a bad sender? I've ground the sender and gauge together, separately, checked...
I need some serious help!! I have spent all day trying to install a new Dakota Digital electronic fuel pressure gauge. I have checked all grounds, electrical connections, hose connections, everything. The gauge will only read 62 psi!!! What gives? any idea... . the sender and gauge are...
Question for those of you who've done the relocation with the Vulcan Big Line kit. On the fuel filter housing inlet, from the instructions it says to "secure the new 1/2" line with the clamp". Does this mean to put the clamp (from the old inlet line) on the new barb & push lock fitting I just...
My fathers owns a '93 3500 Ramw/ Cummins... after seeing how this engine performed for over 500,000 miles, I was sold on the combo. What's really sad is Dodge's neglect of this issue. I am one individual to which $1500. 00 is a chunk. I can understand these kinds of things happening to some...
I should've included the year of my truck, 2001. I don't believe my truck has a port on the fuel filter housing. . couldn't see one on the truck or in the service manual.
Some trucks (like mine) have a schrader valve port where the inlet line from the fuel filter connects to the VP44.
Hi guys,
I'm considering this relocation kit; seems that everyone is having really good luck. My question is this... what options do we have to connect a fuel pressure gauge with the big line Vulcan kit? Also, why does the schrader valve in the kit not come with a core. Right now, as I see...
Mine is 2001. 5. Hopefully I won't run into this broke bracket issue. Between worn susupension components to fuel system issues, my truck (and many others it seems) has turned into a green headed dollar eater. Although I like the design, this will likely be my last Dodge/Cummins. . at 130+Km the...
Good deal... . you guys have been really helpful... ... I'm going to jump on this one and see if I can whip it... I changed the lift pump last weekend, cleared the codes, and thought I solved the problem. I have lots of power back, and no more codes, but the mighty Cummins is being a littler...
So, the key should come out with the old injection pump? and, I can assume that the new pump will come with a new key to which it's been calibrated?
Do you guys try to take the key out before the pump, or just leave it in the keyway and remove it with the pump?
Thanks so much for the...
My injection pump is quickly heading south and I'm considering attempting the injection pump install myself. I have conducted a ton of research on this site regarding this issue and also have the service manual. Everything looks straight forward except the keyway issue. I understand the line up...
