    In order to find out whats going on you need to drain the trans and see if there is anything on the drain plug and go from there. Otherwise you have no idea whats going on or if you dropped anything, and pull one of the coolers like you said and take a look inside.

    Auto-Trans Lock up problems

    We have a '94 2500 4x4 w/auto. The truck is stock and has about 215,000 miles. At 200,000 we had the trani serviced and they found nothing wrong and no visable problems.
