O. K. Here it goes, just got done installing the Famous Mystery Switch for the Torque Converter lock-up. But I can't seem to get the TC to lock up 2nd gear, it will however lock-up in 3rd and of course in O. D. #@$%! I installed a 2 position, 6 pole switch, that way I could install an indicator light to tell me when I’ve activated the switch (they are separate circuits from each other). And I’ve soldered my switch wire to the pin 54 wire without cutting the wire. :p I’ve also got a good ground for the circuit as well. The reason that I’ve installed this is so that I can pull the heavy grades in 2nd gear in lock up, with out overheating. So what have I done wrong with the installation if anything? Or what do i need to do different?

What year is your truck? A stock 47RH ('94 and '95) will lockup in 2nd with the switch but will not hold the lock if you lift. I don't know about later transmissions (47RE). Most after market valve bodies provide the ability to lockup in 2nd and hold it.

The truck is just your basic '94 3/4ton, stock, 4x4, long bed, Ram, nothing modified, w/340k miles, trans been rebuilt 2 times, but other than that nothing. but I'm statring to do some now.

Ok, try this to see if it locks in 2nd. This won't work with a 47RE. When it's stopped put it in D and flip the switch. Nothing should happen. Then go kind of easy. When it shifts to 2nd it will lockup almost instantly. With light throttle you will certainly notice it because RPM should be so low that it is lugging in 2nd.
