Ross-
I tow a mini excavator on my tilt deck which puts me right @ 20k. Sometimes it is hard to get the load moving if I am on any uphill at all. I have not had a problem with my transmission yet, but I have worried about it for the last 40k miles. I make sure I have the torque convertor locked up...
Went to dealer today. Belt was not covered on the 7/70. It is a part of the 3/36. Service manager said he doesn't just "replace belts" he was "going to find out why it failed". I began to think about the cost of a sticky AC pump or PS pump and figured I would have to shell out some serious coin...
I fired up me truck today only to hear "wack wack wack". I have shredded my third belt in 40K. I will take it in tomorrow for another warranty belt. I guess the reason for my post is to find out how many belts everyone else has gone through, or am I the only one that loses one every 15K. I read...
Just got back from a 450 mile trip. The run I make is from Portland to Coos Bay which is a 75% flat run on I-5 in the Willamette Valley. I run my smarty on #2, I use Stanadyne in every tank, and buy my fuel from Safeway.
With smarty- 21 mpg @ 67 mph
Before I had smarty- 18 mpg @ 67 mph same...
GWoody-
I had read in another post somewhere (may have been another dodge forum) that a guy loaded a smarty up and lost the digital circle that goes around which selection you have made on your auto. In other words, the PRND21 would light up, but the circle that tells you which one you have...
After a few runs up and down the street wondering how long my stock auto will last with my new smarty, my neighbor stepped out of his house to see what all the racket was. He asked if I had "chipped" my truck and I told him "no... it is just a smarter truck"
This smarty thing is a dandy. I...
I put mine in Park all the time in 4LO. I do stump grinding with my pickup. Mine "clicks" into park while in 4LO unless I go to Neutral first, then park. This works for me every time. It is just the way it is for me. Good luck.
I had a set of 33's on it and everything was fine for me. The little jump to the 35's nailed me. I wish I had the 4. 10's. Thanks for all the input.
Ben
I just put on a set of 35-12. 5-17 BFG muds and now have some questions. First off, is there a product that I can get that will allow me to control the torque convertor to lockup in OD under 50 mph? I have no problems with how the transmission acts in the first few gears, but I sure would like to be...
The way I had to do this same thing, leaving the cat on of course, was to swell the tailend of the muffler to 4. 5 inches. I had the local muffler shop do this for me. With the back end of the muffler swelled out, you can slightly angle the factory tail pipe section to match. It also gives your...
The TORQUE DOG has been out for quite a while for the 555. They work real good. The only thing we have found is that they kind of "surge" around idle. They also make a TORQUE DOG for the 04. 5. Read about it @ www.bullydog.com
My mileage went up and stayed up. I noticed rougher idle and more motor vibration in the floor while driving since TSB. Lots more smoke too. It is all for the better. At least I am getting the same mileage as my father-in-law's Duramax now.
I don't know what to tell you. My overhead was up right out of the shop bay. I also noticed that my truck ran different. I like the difference, but it took a couple of days to get used to. For what it is worth, my overhead went from being stuck on 13. 1 (I am not a resetter) to 15. 9. My TSB...
