I had previously posted on this problem on my 2007, 5.9. The WTS light would come on during deceleration and the chimes would go off almost forever. The light would stay on for varying lengths of time and then go off. It got to the point that first thing I did when I let off the gas was look to...
I recently had my Dual Mass Flywheel/clutch replaced with a South Bend Flywheel/clutch. After reading the posts on hard shifting I now understand why it's hard to shift into 2nd without going into 1st. The material that was provided with the clutch has a tech bulletin from Lazar Smith suggesting...
My 2007, 2500 has about 179,000 miles on it. Does that fall into the "many-miles" category? I just replaced the clutch, $2300. After the injectors, what else can I expect?
Yes, I have the same problem. It started in January after having #2 injector replaced because it died. It's come on a couple of times since during deceleration.
Same problem, different fix.
Ihad the same problem last year. Took it to a tire shop for a checkout. They couldn't get the clutch to engage and recommended I take it to a place that specializes in auto electrics. Figured they were all that good so I took it to one of the most respected places...
First, I want to thank everyone that provided some imput here. And a special Thank You to Mike Wilson for the photos and narrative.
Second, don't shy away from this. I was down to the bare axel the one hour point. Maybe it was the spraying of the nuts bolts and mounting areas for a week or...
Mike,
I live in Montana but the truck started out in Colorado. I had already started doing the back side. I figued it would be part of the problem.
Can you give me some hints on the Power Steering method? People have talked about using a bar or socket to help wiggle it out but where do you...
Mike and Bill,
Thank you both for your input. Mike your photographic post is great--I really appreciate that. Did you have something similar for removing the wheel bearing? I've read most of the "horror" stories on TDR about hub removal. Plan is to do the joints next weekend. I'm starting now...
2007 4X4 Quad Cab, 5. 9, 6 spd,
My right wheel upper ball joint is really loose. I plan to replace the lower one too but my maintenance book isn't too detailed on the issue. Looking at it I'll need to remove everything down to the bare axel housing. I remember reading another post a long time...
Ok, since we're on the A/C problems.
If the compressor clutch is not engaging is it possible to replace just the clutch? If not, where's the best deal on a new compressor?
Thnaks for the reply. I think that's what I'm going to do. The same guy that designed the parking brake must have done some of the design work on the F-4 Phantom.
Thanks again.
