A couple of months later, I would appreciate an update / long term impression of these mirror upgrades.
My drivers side mirror has vibrated and bounced for a couple of years now. I mananged to break the center pivot pin when I finally got a round tuit. So now the mirror is hanging in there but...
You can also do a Internet used part search. I found a used tailgate for a 2004 in Texas. They shipped. It was a perfect color match but had a slight ding which was noted in their response and photo before I bought.
Hi guys, I thought that I had the sliding rear window leak posted here in the past. After water hose testing the back glass, I found that it was leaking into the cab from the right rear lower corner away from the slider drain. As a last chance before removing and replacing the rear glass, I...
I too have the Smarty s-06 that was upgraded to the POD software. For a long time I ran Level 5 at 60% with advanced timing and turbo waste gate off. I recently ran through an issue with fuel pressure and hard starting and thought I was having injector issues. I had installed a fuel gauge on the...
Hopefully final answer to this issue that has bugged me for a couple of months. It seems that my fuel pre-filter was the culprit that I installed when I replaced the OEM fuel pump on the Filter case. I replaced the main filter a couple of times but not the pre-filter. I found a couple of other...
I upgraded the Smarty and downloaded onto the truck last night. It cranked in 5 to 10 seconds and ran steady with fuel pressure staying 5-6. Tried again this morning and again started in a little over 5 seconds. It was a bit cold around 32 and again ran steady. At least one issue seems to be...
Thanks guys, I know that this can be several things and I really hope that I do not have to go into the injectors now. I replaced the lift pump 20,000 miles ago probably in 2010 from the unit in Genos. I am assuming that the unit was not the new "brushless" style. I did not see anything in the...
Hi guys, I have a 2004.5 with 85,000 miles on it. It has started having a long crank before it would start issue. Reading the forums, I have seen that injectors or connector tubes leaking and not building up enough pressure to tell the ECM to start is a leading cause. I was getting ready to buy...
One more thought on the discussion. We only have a lowly DSL connection now that usually measures 3.5 M up and 500 K down. But it is unlimited - at least for now. My son just moved to Pensacola and they are capped at 200 Gig per month and he was a heavy downloader when he was at home.
We turned...
I too have been looking for a left hand silver dually flare for a 2004. 5. I did not get any responses from the Salvage yards or the national lines. Too bad that I am in North Carolina.
David.
I have dropped the pan and I found the rear servo band adjustment was loose. I reset the adjustment and LOCKED the adjustment screw this time. Reverse seems to be at least back to where it was before I dropped the valve body.
I had the gauge in the rear servo port and it read 160 at Idle...
I finally was able to test the pressures. 160 psi on the rear servo port in Reverse. FSM seems to point to rear band out of adjustment.
First gear seems to be okay. It does not seem to slip like reverse does but I have not had a load on it to stay in first.
I need to pull a trailer...
I have a 2004. 5 3500 48RE with 77,000 miles that I just did a Transgo shift kit with several of the Sonnax Valve upgrades that are discussed on TDR. 3 to 4th is very crisp but 1-2 and 2-3 are almost mushy. My issue is with reverse where there is a stutter and I have heard a metal type grind...
