That action is something that seems to be a trademark about the cummins. A factory thermostat helps it the most, but it never really cures it... I don't like it myself and I have 5 of them, and they all do it.
My uncle has an 04 3500 6-speed and he lives close to Pheonix, AZ. When the transmission gets hot, it can barely be shifted in or out of gears. The clutch seems to be fully disengaging too. Town driving doesn't bother it but when he gets on the highwayfor about 40-50 miles and gets it nice and warm it...
Hey guys, I have 1996 2500 4x4 that came out of florida. It never seems to warm up, no matter the type of weather. I've tried 3 thermostats, all factory. It will warm up to about the 2nd mark on the gauge but takes a while to get there and never goes any higher. I don't quite understand what...

well lets see, I have some hydraulic oil that I use as a fuel additive, gloves, couple bungee cords, couple of bed sheets, and mattress. I just came from the TS performance diesel show in KY and planned to sleep in the back of my truck (it has a topper).
Hey fellas,
Every one of these trucks I've seen, the temperature varies way too quickly. Does anyone know a solution to this? I think the main reason for it is based on the fact that the water inlet and outlet is so far away from one another. Putting a factory thermostat helps but doesn't...
