But is the glass half full or half empty?

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) How come I cannot keep low rpms with an auto ?

That is all irrelevant. Once the transmission goes into lockup the TC no longer has much effect, unless, you are overpowering the lockup clutch in the TC. Like I said 4. 10 gears rev higher than 3. 54 gears which is what 85% of all these trucks were shipped with. You got 4. 10 gears. I am guessing...

WTS light works just fine. Went back to original ECM and get no codes, Reinstalled CaTCHER and the codes are back. It is definately in the Catcher. I can only assume this might be contributing to the problem. however, I cant be sure. I am just trying to rationalize why others have it working...

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) How come I cannot keep low rpms with an auto ?

If you wanted to keep the RPM down you should have bought a truck with 3. 54 gears not 4. 11 . You got the towing gears not the mileage gears, although I see around 19-20 mpg pretty consistently

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) caTCHER ecm (Marco's aka MAD)

BOB and MARCO, NEW DEVELOPMENT Well for the heck of it I pulled codes from the truck and to my suprise I have 3 that seem to follow the new Catcher. 0501 0602 0521 The 0501 shows nowhere I can find? The 0602 looks like a checksum problm with the ECM. I searched the forums and it...

BTW Edge states that the Comp and Drag Comp are IDENTICAL to one another except for the fact that on 5X5 the Drag Comp fuels beyond 2700 RPM. So why would the Drag comp need to be any more special. Or is it either Comp that needs the "Special" ECM

Bob, Mine says 02/auto/federal "Special" on the hand written tag that is taped to the ECM. Now maybe it isnt really Special at all, however, It is marked as special.

Oh well. It sounds like time to drop back and punt. I was under no assumption that I would have to play footsy with the throttle. Believe it or not my main concern was getting rid of any 1 to 2 shift defueling and I thought I would take whatever else came with it. What I have now is obviously...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) caTCHER ecm (Marco's aka MAD)

HMMM, I just got my comp upgraded last Tuesday and it has 8. 0 only. Now I am really confused. I hate calling edge tech support. Every time I ever call them they never have a clue about the specific aspects of how their devices work with my truck. I ask them if they have a GURU on the Cummins...

If I am not mistaken the blue chip is a fueling box only and does no timing. I could be wrong though. The Comp definately does timing.

Sounds like Marco is perplexed. I talked to Bob Wagner today after my original post and he said he couldnt reach Marco today, Hmmmm I wonder if Marco is crunchin the ECM math. I have received numerous PMs with several people having a similar problem with the Special version of the Catcher and...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) caTCHER ecm (Marco's aka MAD)

Just installed my Catcher and have question I just installed my new Catcher with my Drag comp. Noticed that under full throttle the truck seems a little flat and if I let of the throttle by 50% the acceleration improves. It seems to happen to slightly different degrees depending on which Comp...

    Amsoil Dual Bypass w/ Twins?

I dont have twins yet but the relocation adapter takes up far less room than the standard oil filter. I dont know where you mounted your filters but mine is mounted to the bottom of the radiator core support. I am sure that twins will fit.
