Attention: TDR Forum Junkies To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.
So today I finally had time to drain most of the old PS fluid from the reservoir and then refill it with Red Line Synthetic PS fluid. I jacked up the front end of the truck to the point where the front wheels were off of the ground and then started the engine. I turned the steering wheel...
Most any light/medium duty truck spring shop will have a suitable aftermarket replacement available for you at a very reasonable cost. Be careful installing them, springs will bite!
Thanks for your insight here Rusty! I assume that the accumulator is the annodized blue cylinder on the booster housing - right? Can the accumulator be recharged with nitrogen somehow or does it need to be replaced? If replaced - can only it be replaced or does it come as part of a larger...
It’s time for my annual cry for guidance from you guys “the Dodge Ram experts”!
After returning home from a recent snowmobiling trip (~325 miles) with my truck/trailer all systems were functioning just great. I unloaded the truck, took it for a wash and then parked it in the garage - again all...
It's time for my annual cry for guidance from you guys “the Dodge Ram experts”! As per the scenario originally described in this thread, I have may just experienced a similar situation with my truck. After returning home from a recent snowmobiling trip (~325 miles) with my truck/trailer all...
Update - After checking all of my vehicle grounds, the alternator connector and then the trailer wiring connections on both the truck and camper I found nothing wrong or unusual in any of those places. I then replaced the alternator with a new replacement alternator and have driven the truck for...
I replaced the original water pump this summer (leaking from weep hole) at 232K. All original AC components are still intact and fully functional at 233K. However, there is a very small freaon leak somewhere but adding 1 can of Freon each season works great! I just recently replaced the alternator.
Thanks to all - I will check the grounds and likely replace the alternator since it has got to be on borrowed time with 233K + miles on it. I will update this post again in about a month with the results.
Hi Guys, I need to tap your technical expertise about this problem.
On the first of two occurrences (about two months ago) I was 1-1/2 hours into a 3- hour long trip and towing my camper when I noticed my “Check Gauges” light on the dashboard illuminate. I noticed that my battery voltage...
Welcome, I would suggest that you borrow or buy a scan tool that can read the trouble codes in the ECU and also allow you tp look at the live data stream from the sensors. There is an abundance of information to be had from a scan tool. The voltages read from the sensors using the scan tool can...
Jack, John & SNOKING,
I'm just back after the long weekend with a new 4931497 MAP sensor from Cummins in hand.
After installation - Key ON/Engine OFF voltage = 0. 41 VDC.
I cleared the DTC's and then took it out on a 30 minute ride where I tested every ability this truck has to offer...
I am embarrased that it took me so long to post this solution - I really thought that I had done this already - oh well here is the problem solved.
I pulled the PS pump (easy job) emptied it of oil which looked to be old and brown in color. I then removed checked and cleaned the pressure...
