I'm considering selling my '97 to go to a newer truck. Can anyone give me a ballpark idea what a private sale should be? KBB has me at 3K, but I have 15K into it. A short list is... ...
Rebuilt rearend
rebuilt transmission W/ warranty
engine removed stripped to short block & all gaskets &...
Clinton I would have to agree with you on that. I'm running a set of 265's & the tread is down to less that a quarter inch. And I have noticed more shake the thinner they get. When I swap over to my winter treads I'll have the alignment checked. I read in the FAQ's that the alignment can be a...
I have a BD 3rd gen track bar on my '97. SO much better than stock. Also have a DSS steering box stabilizer. I swapped out my stock shocks for a new set of Bilstein's. They're everything everyone says they are. Also don't forget the front swaybar bushings & endlinks. Some people might tell you...
Yeah BIGNASTY I do agree about the sights. When I sent my XD back to the custom shop I had the following done:
National match barrel hand fitted to the action
The entire hand grip stippeled
A extended mag release button installed
A 4lb trigger
all overtravel taken out
And my own set of...
I own a 5" service length XD in a 45 & absolutely love it! In fact I loved it so much I sent it back to S/A custom shop for a custom pkg. Even though the XD is now the way S/A SHOULD be making them, it is my #1 choice for carry. If 14 rounds (13 in the mag & 1 in the tube) aren't enough then...
Well finally the company allowed me to get out to the range to work with my swede. All I can say is OMG!!!!! I spent the 1st 25 rounds breaking in the barrel before I sighted in.
Now I've owned a 6. 5 Grendel AR-15 & that was a blast to shoot, but when I squeezed the trigger on this Tikka... ...
I don't mean to be the devil's advocate here guys but if a 870 or 500 is good self defense, then why don't people hunt with them? My personal choice would be a 44 Mag.
No much on 4 legs let alone 2 can stand up to a 44 Mag with a 330 Gr super hard cast bullet. That's made for pure penetration...
CCamillo I went thru the exact same thing. I put a leveling kit on with a new NAPA track bar. I swapped the track bar out for a BD 0" to 4" adjustable to find that the T/B from NAPA already had slop in it. You'll be glad you did. Strictly bolt on or you can weld it. Also check the steering box...
You mean to tell me that NOBODY even has a clue???????
Is this a first for this problem?
Can it be timing? or just simply resetting the idle? or could it be more involved?
I just got back from a 700 mile round trip. I noticed that when I run 65-70 mph for a couple of hundred miles, After I cool it down, shut it off, when I get ready to fire it up again the idle is way low . Sounds like about 200 rpm lower of where it should be. I can rev it up a little &...
I would start with a KDP kit first. That will allow you to open up the front & check there, replace gaskets, etc. Check all rubber hoses, fuel lines, heater/strainer. While your there check the P/S pump & the vacuum pump. The P/S pump likes to leak where the two join.
Check the oil line to the...
I'm soliciting all opinions... ... . Gentlemen... ... ...
I have a '97 2500 8800GVWR. I've installed a 2. 5" leveling kit in the front & have a 2. 5" block kit for the back, yes in essence a 2. 5" lift. Now my questions are;
1) Is it advisible to change the bump stops to longer ones & if so...
I have the DSS on my '97. Was there when I bought it. It does help support the output shaft & pitman arm. Like the others say wether it's BD or DSS they are great upgrades.
Certainly won't hurt you.
