Attention: TDR Forum Junkies To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.
I had a machine shop do the work on a lathe for $25 per wheel. Using a micrometer to measure the stock wheel we decided to open them up to 4. 785" (0. 011 more than the getdieselpower.com article discusses). They came out perfectly and are on the truck now. The 315 70 17 fits with good clearance...
I don't care for the stock center cap on the 3rd gens. I'd like to get closed-end style lug nuts for my 2004 2500. What are the specs for threading and seat type? Any ideas on a more simple and clean aftermarket center cap?
I met a guy who installed the stock wheels from a Hummer H2 on his 2005 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab. He said the 8-lug pattern matches but the center hole had to be machined slightly larger to fit the Dodge. Anyone else familiar with this wheel swap? Is the offset the same so there are no steering...
Thanks to Janet701's info, dealer performed flash "AJ" on Thursday. Tech explained that the control module was programmed from the factory to delay engaging the cooling fan to allow the engine to warm up ASAP to get the most complete combustion and reduced emissions. The problem was that the...
Dealer was Rio Vista Ford/Dodge, south of Sacramento, CA. They recycled the coolant that was already in the system, so that was the price break there. They've made many errors in the past with some other maintenance and repairs so the labor break was for customer appreciation (I think).
Thanks for the tip on the TSB for the fan. Unfortunately, I think my TDR issue 62 is on loan 800 miles away with my father-in-law in Utah, but you gave me the info I need to be able to talk to the shop foreman tomorrow and hopefully get this fixed without any runaround. Thank you!
My 2004 2500 Laramie Quad Cab has twice had a bad water leak in the cab. The situation is that the truck was parked at a nose-up incline for two severe rain storms. The carpets were soaked and there was standing water in the storage compartments under the rear seat. Moisture must have wicked...
My 2004 5. 9L 2500 has oil burning smell in the cabin at idle. Moving down the road there is no issue, but stopped in traffic or at a long stop light the cabin fills with the smell. The odor comes through the vents and you can make it go away by putting the A/C on re-circ mode. Fresh Delo 400...
FWIW, the water pump died in my 2004 5. 9L 2500 at 103K miles (2 months outside of warranty). Dealer charged $260 for part, $30 coolant, $30 labor for a total of $320. Problem discovered when coolant was pouring out onto driveway.
I've been having fan problems with my 2004 5. 9L Dodge 2500 (110K miles) annually. The Dodge dealer mechanics, a great auto electric shop, and an independent mechanic have all struggled with this. Everything is working perfectly now after the independent mechanic fooled around with the signal...
Thanks for the responses. Extra fuel water separator and fuel filter are never a bad idea(provided they are monitored and maintained properly). If I go with biodiesel, I'll brew it myself. I've been looking at the Appleseed designs for making biodiesel, and would welcome any feedback on that...
Can one of you folks experienced with biodiesel in the 2004 trucks provide a detailed overview of the mods necessary to run safely without harming the truck? I'm looking for info such as fuel line materials, pumps, filters, injectors, or anything else that would need to be modified from stock.
