    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Axle

A 35 spline 70 and the 10. 25 are probably pretty much even strength wise depending on the model of 70, the Sterling has bigger wheel bearings(inner wheel bearings border on silly for a LD truck app,) and possibly pinion bearings(depending on which model 70. ) They are both 35 spline, 1. 5"...

    UH OH! It happened allready

I haven't yet gotten around to getting the proper yoke so I can get rid of that wimpy little u-joint on my truck, driveshaft was brand new when I got the truck, and the u-joint hasn't died yet. BUT, when it does, I have a pretty simple fix for upgrading it to 1330 and a U-bolt style Yoke. Ford...

    40 spline NP 205 shaft?

The synchronized version was designed to spin up the front driveline to engage the auto hubs on the fly. Try putting yours into 4 high going down the road with the hubs unlocked, it will grind, the Chevy synchronized version wont. Of course, it had a goofy half shift fork for the front output...

    40 spline NP 205 shaft?

Heh... It's a small internet! I'm not just a Ford guy. I did quite a bit of digging myself before I backed the other guy up, and I can't find reference to a 40 spline 205 anywhere, even the LowMax aftermarket unit that's touted to be the strongest 205 ever is only 32 spline throughout. The...

Bongo Drum Noise in the intake. WTH????

I developed this noise in my 92 after adjusting the valves... I somehow ended up with the #6 exhaust valve too loose after going over the valves twice, sure didn't feel too smart after that one... LOL

35's on my 92, how much lift?

Mine definatley wont' clear 35's as is without major sawz-all action, springs are TOAST... LOL. 2. 5" will probably do the trick then

35's on my 92, how much lift?

Pretty much just street/tow rig duty, with mild hunting/fishing related wheeling, the 460 Ford is on 38. 5" Boggers for the fun stuff... The main reason I want to put 35's on is that I have a set on wheels with less than 500 miles on 'em for summer use... . LOL

35's on my 92, how much lift?

Well, here goes, I'm out to put the set of 35's I have kicking around on my 92, the front springs are beat to death(V-Plow on top of the Cummins... . ) so I want to lift it some as I need to replace them anyway. But, on the other hand, I don't want to go any higher than I need to, as I am...

    No ground at starter relay?

Thank you very much. I got it figured out, started tracing the harness and found the brown wire that feeds power to the A/C relay had shorted to ground just past the fuseable links, and burned off, melting the insulation on a few wires, and burning off the brown/yellow wire. That fixes my A/C...

    No ground at starter relay?

I think the wiring harnesses are different enough between a 91. 5 and a 92 that I'm pretty much SOL without the proper diagrams unless I start tearing the harness apart, which I really don't want to do. The wiring at the computer for one is nowhere even close. I did find a ground directly...

    No ground at starter relay?

The clutch switch is on the positive trigger for the relay(solid yellow wire) under the dash, the wiring diagrams show an auto as having a jumper in the plug under the dash. I can find in the diagrams where the relay is supposed to be grounded to, but, it doesn't do much good in actually finding...

    No ground at starter relay?

I'm chasing a few electrical gremlins in my 92. My Speedometer, DRL's(I assume it's supposed to have them based on 91. 5 wiring diagrams) A/C are all dead, and the starter was on a rigged up on a pushbutton when I got it. I figured the ignition switch was the issue with the starter, and...

    Lug nuts for aftermarket wheels?

I don't have any of those chain stores at my disposal... Just a real parts store with catalogs in a rack at the front counter. Unfortunately, small town = small stock, and most of that stuff will have to be ordered in, I pretty much have to commit to buy to get my hands on a lug nut just to...

    Lug nuts for aftermarket wheels?

First post here... I did some digging in the search, but, didn't really find anything that really helped much. I have a set of Helo Maxx 8 16x10's with 315 BFG muds on them holding up one of my Fords that I want to put on my 92 once I get the nose off of the ground(plow truck, front springs are...
