I'm chasing a few electrical gremlins in my 92. My Speedometer, DRL's(I assume it's supposed to have them based on 91. 5 wiring diagrams) A/C are all dead, and the starter was on a rigged up on a pushbutton when I got it.
I figured the ignition switch was the issue with the starter, and replaced it to no avail, I found that the relay on the inner fender had no ground. Supplied to ground to it, and, it works as it should.
Looking at the wiring diagrams, the starter relay and the DRL's at the least ground at the same point, and the speedometer is tied into the DRL wiring.
How different is a 92 from a 91. 5 wiring wise? I know the 91 has a separate voltage regulator, does my 92 have the DRL module separate like the 91. 5 diagrams show, or is it part of the computer?
I think my issue is with the ground tied to the J9 splice, which the diagrams say is at the rear of the engine, but, I don't see it anywhere on my 92 truck.
Also, the truck is kicking out the following trouble codes: 12, 33, and 42. I find the 42 odd, as the truck is charging fine.
