Thank U very much... . Can I mount your pillar pod with the factory grab handle? I was also wondering if there was a provision by which true oil pressure could be monitored as it is my understanding that we are operating on a sophisticated dummy light?
I didn't mean to get everyone wound up...
Blah Blah Blah... . I said I would like to keep it... did not say I had to. As for the "personal choice" I want to buy a box based on the parameters listed not join a dating service. If U have any informative input I would be grateful, however your response was non-responsive. :-{}
Ok, I spent the better part of the night reading about different power boxes on previous posts, in fact I'm gettin' drowsy. I have a few parameters that are VERY important... . so I'll ask for some recommendations from the guys that know. This is an 04. 5 NV5600 DRW Laramie with no cat and...
Can somebody go over the clear fuel line test procedure? I did a search but didn't see a great description. Where do you put it, what size , and so forth. I would like to be sure before I order a new fuel module and pull the tank again. I can definitely say that it seems to get worse when I am...
That would be great if that is the case :-laf To be honest I dropped the tank a couple months ago because the fuel module had fallen apart. I did look at the hoses at that time and was pretty careful not to stretch or kink the lines but if that's the prognosis it sure beats a VP. It had done...
So the damn thing ran fine for several days and then did it again... This time I cracked both the injectors and the return bypass valve and found aerated or foamy fuel. Once the foamy stuff was purged it started right up again.
Is this the beginning of VP failure or do I have an air leak...
OK... . cleared codes and drove around town doing chores. It is definitely not starting like it used to or like it should. Requires cranking for 5-10 seconds intermittently sometimes starting like a dream. Went back to shop and scanned for codes... . NOTHING. I will crack injector tonight to...
I have NO loss of power... . tows strong.
Is there a shutdown solenoid on the vp44 trucks?
I even monkeyed with the steering column & ignition switch... . no joy
Reconnected batteries this morning and she fired right up about six times in a row. I could not reset check engine light by...
My 98. 5 is having intermitant starting problems, but fer sure does not start as quickly as a healthy truck. This is what I know.....
1) batteries are kickass and turn it over like a tornado
2) fuel pressure at filter inlet and outlet are within a couple of PSI of eachother
3)...
I know I 've read about this problem on this site but need your assistance. My 98. 5 24v is having a starting problem. It cranks hard and fast but will not "catch" and run. It sounds like it has no fuel however I checked lift pump pressure and it is good and the filter is changed regularly. It...
Most shops use an impact gun. You are not supposed to reuse the nut, but if you do (and lots do) use some blue locktight on it. You will need a 2 jaw puller to get the yoke off the splined shaft. Make sure and use sealer around the new seal and check level on diff after you are done. I just did...
I have a 98. 5 that is ready to sell, but wouldn't you know it the sending unit crapped out on the way down to the do it yourself car lot. I know it loves me and doesn't want to go away but I need the dough. There is a sending unit from a 2000 on Ebay right now... ... The question is does anyone...
If you are going with boards check out Dee Zee's "FX Stainless" http://deezee.r-catalog.com/listparts.asp I have these on my 98. 5" and am replacing the factory Westin bars with them as we speak. I live on a gravel road and like the quality and protection of these. They use a very soft molded...
I tow an 18,000 pound trailer in the Sierra mountains of northern Nevada. I have had no problems with my 98. 5 and a Diablo Power Puck. while I do down shift on some of the steeper grades (wish it had a 6 apeed) it has been ok. I believe the 98. 5 was stock at about 440 ft lb torque and the puck...
