Good news! I went to the dealer today and got two TSB reflashes done. One covers the exact sympoms mentioned, and makes the controller less sensitive to voltage fluctuations that were causing an erratic TCC engagement in 4th gear. transmission giving out??
I have a 98. 5 stock 24 valve automatic. I pull a 10000# 5'er. The truck has about 90K on it and the 5'er about 2K. It has been all Florida flatland pulling. I have Amsoil transmission fluid in for the last 25K. Temperatures have been normal at all times (gauged). I noticed some difference...- Fearless
