I suggest having a new return spring on hand. It is a $5 part that no brick and morter has in stock when you need it. If you have to order one it will add a day to your replacement. ( Don't ask me how I know )
I have been really liking mine this past year. Smooth engagement, a bit more pedal...
I've had friends "upgrade" to 4th gens. I have told them all the same things... Enjoy the refinements. Don't expect to keep the same resale value. 4th gen is an unknown commodity.
Emissions, electronics, complexities, etc... The 06 mega cab with the 5.9 and a 6 speed has a bit more value than...
Hello Sven, sorry it took so long to reply. I see that you have an 04 versus my 04.5. I am jealous... my oil gets dirty so quickly. Upon replacing my stock 2 piece with the 1 piece aluminum,
upgrading my clutch , and checking/servicing my front driveshaft, I have determined that it will never...
You should get new banjo bolts with your new/rebuilt calipers. period. They are hollow bolts and are cheap. They are not designed to be retorqued a half dozen times.
They need to be torqued a certain amount to flatten the new crush washer. Imagine that you are 40 miles from your nearest Napa...
There's nothing cooler than blue lights at night. Underwater and under gunnel lights on your boat, dash and dome lights in your truck.... just not any whatsoever
in your rear view. #@$%! Be aware that they can possibly affect your REM sleep.
03-05 trucks use 11 B8.5's in the...
What everyone else said :) And if that is your original water pump, you might consider replacing it with a cummins part. Along with a flush and fill. Thermostat and hoses would not hurt either on
your 04.5. Do all those at home.
That would be awesome, especially if they could use a thicker sheetmetal.... unlike the ding magnets on my longbed. My truck had the fender liners from the factory and they really seemed to help.
The insides of my wheelwells are all super clean behind those liners. The original owner did...
For that kind of expense( changing gear ratios ) you would be money ahead by installing a Spyntec manual hub lockout. You're mileage, driveability, and front axle component life
all go up. Wheel bearings last longer and are cheaper to replace. Still want to change gear ratios? Go with...
Make sure the little plastic check valve is still present in the outer end of the hose. Mine mounts to the side facing the rear of truck, near the top of the shock tower.
Look straight down along the inside edge of battery, next to the positive terminal. Driver side. Mine looks like there is...
I carry a spare belt tensioner. That seems to be the first thing to go in the pulley system. If that is your original water pump and coolant- I would consider changing it out at home. Then carry
a spare. Use the better quality pump for your reinstall. I also carry the alternator rebuild kit...
