I ordered the parts this morning so the installation procedure is to loosen the adjuster bolt, put the new parts in, and tighten band as opoole recommends? "To adjust the 2nd band torque to 72 in lbs. then back off 2 turns and lock down the 3/4 lock nut. "

get bent band strut is bent for sure. . so this much bend, would cause the breakage of the anchor. .

I assume I have to drop the whole valve body assembly ? never dug this deep into a automatic trans. . any gotchas to watch out for ?

very small particles. . powder like. . I guess where is the relay you are talking about ? and what is it called exactly of part # as for the gov switch and solenoid, I just involves dropping the trans pan right ? it does not require the trans to come out...
