I'm trying to change the rear diff seal on an 04. I took the driveshaft off and now am trying to find a socket to fit that big nut in there. 1 3/8 is to small and 1 7/16 is pretty loose. Must be metric but I don't know what it is. I think its either 35 or 36 mm. ??? And where would you find one...
Wow I think the problem is fixed. Just the other night my friend had his truck over and he asked if I learned anything on TDR. I decided to go out and just take a look at this AC wire that JJPage had posted. Sure enough right there by the compressor a wire was rubbing on an AC line. It had...
This is not my truck so I just wrote what my friend told me. I'll have to get the rest of the codes from him. It is stock. I might work on it so I wanted some ideas of stuff to check. thanks
This problem is strange to me anyway cuz it is intermittent. It has only happened so far at idle or while driving slow speeds. Not just when its cold either but any time. The check engine light comes on and the engine will shake and carry on and then it clears up. The light stays on for a day or...
@rbattelle, I'm not sure what was used in it before but it has Amsoil now. This is for a friend by the way.
@HOBrian, every time he lets off the throttle or is under heavy load.
Where do you find a clock spring for an 01 Dodge? It can be aftermarket. The dealer does not have them in stock until September but would like one sooner.
Thanks
This truck makes a ticking sound only in 5th and 6th gear. The noise was first noticed when letting off the throttle and coasting in gear but started doing it under heavy load also. It seems to be coming from the transmission. The mileage is about 180K. Any ideas would be appreciated.
When you start this 01 up and take off it has low power. It feels kind of like a flooded gas engine. If you put it in neutral, shut it off, and start it back this fixes the problem. Almost seems like it resets something. Any ideas what it is?
