My apologies for not getting back to this thread sooner. The transmission output speed sensor went bad. It cost $300 to fix once they figured out what was wrong.

30 is top speed and engine continues to rev to red line if you hold the throttle down

I disconnected the batteries for a half hour and the condition didnt change.
