CEL came on yesterday and scanned codes P2201 & P2048. P2201 is a regular occurrence and comes and goes on its own. The P2048 is a new one and was accompanied with an EVIC message of 200 miles before limp mode. Some kind of DEF problem. I erased the codes with my scan tool. After 2 days of...
Thanks for the recommendations on fixing the EVIC. The fixes didn't seem to work. I don't have much confidence in the dealer's ability to troubleshoot electrical issues. It appears their remedies are to replace parts until the problem is corrected. At my expense of course.
I have a 2014 2500 Tradesman stock with an EVIC screen that’s locked on “Trip A.” I can’t get access to any of the other screens. In addition, the cruise control works only when it feels like it. There’s no CEL illuminated so no codes to give a clue as to what the problem may be. Anyone else...
Thank you for the replies. 12V98 - I’m not sure I know what you mean as to fill in public signature. I’m quite lacking in computer technology. I wouldn’t know where to begin in posting photos of this maintenance procedure. I don’t own a smart phone so that precludes me from taking photos...
I’m about to hit the 67,500 mile threshold on my truck and expecting to see the “Perform Service” message on my evic. I purchased the egr kit from Geno’s but won’t be able to perform this maintenance for at least 1 month. Will the truck go into limp mode if I don’t perform this service...
I’m reading through my edition TDR 106 “The Rest of the Story” on the subject of Bosch Fuel Injection Pumps. It states that the CP4-2 used on the 6.7 CGI engine is priced at $6,260. Then the injectors for that engine are $2,465 each. This means that if you were to experience a...
On my 2014, My third brake light on the cab has developed a leak which has water running into to the rear of the cab. The light was full of water when it was removed. Anyone else experiencing the same problem.
Thanks for the replies. The “Wrong FOB” message appeared both before and after I changed the battery. And yes, I can still unlock the truck with the fob. I only get the message when I insert the fob and turn to start.
Just changed the battery on my model year 14, but each time I insert the fob I get a message “Wrong FOB”. Is there something else going on beside the battery?
It’s been almost a year and a half since the dealer fixed my cruise problem. It’ll be interesting to see if your cruise issue recurs in a similar time frame.
I’ve had intermittent problems with the cruise control. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. It cropped up originally under the warranty and the dealer fixed it. I’m out of warranty now and the issue has started again. I mostly drive highway and it’s quite aggravating when the cruise...
Hello Bob4X4 and Ozymandias. Thank you for your replies. The reason I asked the question was that I am selling my truck and the prospective buyer asked whether or not the truck had a 53 block. The weather here in NH has been just terrible with close to 100 inches of snow in 3 weeks and I just...
Hi. I'm trying to determine if the first 2 digits of the ESN number represent the block designation. My ESN starts with "56". Does this mean I have a 56 block and not a 53 block?
Hi Ron. Yesterday I did remove the inspection plate at the bottom of the bell housing. I'm not sure if bell housing is the right term here. I'm describing the round housing where the transmission bolts to the engine. There's a plate bolted to the bottom of this section of the transmission. On...
