Hi. I'm trying to determine if the first 2 digits of the ESN number represent the block designation. My ESN starts with "56". Does this mean I have a 56 block and not a 53 block?

If the truck gets close to 20 years of age then you don't have to worry about the 53 saga.

Hello Bob4X4 and Ozymandias. Thank you for your replies. The reason I asked the question was that I am selling my truck and the prospective buyer asked whether or not the truck had a 53 block. The weather here in NH has been just terrible with close to 100 inches of snow in 3 weeks and I just haven't been able to get under the truck to search for the block number. I thought by some chance if the ESN began with a 56 that it might indicate that the truck had a 56 block and I could relay this info back to the buyer.
