It’s an electronic shift and doesn’t work at all. he unhooked the shift motor and it works with no problem.

It is the electronic shift knob. I am hoping he keeps the truck until I get home so I can do some investigating on it myself. Everyone thanks for the information and once I am able to fill in more information I will be sure to!! hopefully I am able to fix his issue!

He said that it does not make a noise at all. Once get the Alpha Hopefully i can force it to shift into 4WD... won't know until december.

Thanks for the info! I told him to go by my house and grab my Alpha OBD (I am deployed currently) to run some deeper diagnostics on it.

Tim he has ran a OBD scan tool on it numerous times with no codes popping up. I asked if he had and lights on the dash and he said no. I thought of the ABS sensors but that was not coming up either. Do you think that there could be any other issues that might not pop up?

I have a friend that is in need of assistance troubleshooting an issue with his truck. When he switches it to 4x4 it will blink like its shifting then it will return to 2wd. He has replaced the Transfer Case, Sift motor (3x), Cab Switch, TIPM Control Module to trouble shoot and to no avail...

I was able to Jack it up today and teak a peek. I noticed that when I turn the tire (when it’s full tilt one way) it’ll force the tire a little straight and then fall back into full turn. Does that sound like the U-Joints?
