Just FYI on the truck I bought

I bought an extended warranty, the most they had was 150K miles bumper to bumper, that'll take me out a ways.

Just FYI on the truck I bought

Yes, it starts downshifting, but after the brake starts working. And, of course, any exhaust brake works stronger with higher rpm, even the RAM Cummins. Higher rpm means higher exhaust flow and pressure. And, the PSD being a V8, has quite a bit higher rpm range than the Cummins, so potentially...

One thing I've found is that you have to step on the brake pedal a little to get the exhaust brake working quicker than it will by just letting off the throttle. This with the EB on full, not auto.

Just FYI on the truck I bought

Well known that the exhaust brake on the powerstroke isn't as strong as the Cummins, but it works much better on the gen 3 PSD. I'm still getting used to it and how to make it work best. On this Ford, I'll probably only get 350K miles out of the service brakes instead of 500K like on my '15...

Just FYI on the truck I bought

I would have went with another RAM, but RAM doesn't offer the mega cab in 2WD anymore, they don't offer the HO engine in the 2500, and the trans is still only a 6 speed. The Ford has the 1050 TQ engine in the F250, and a modern 10 speed, and that combo obviously works well. There are pros and...

Just FYI on the truck I bought

Yeah, I'd like to be able to order a new truck like you order dinner at a chinese restaurant. Yes, I'd like the #1 front end and #4 cab from column "A" and the #3 and #5 engine and trans from column "B"!

Just FYI on the truck I bought

Sold my RAM, bought a new 2022 Ford F250. You guys can say what you want, it's mine now, a done deal, no going back. This is a copy of the post I put up on the FTE board... So, my first trip with the new truck, only 186 miles on the clock when I left. I'll get the numbers out of the way first...

    Full Oil Filter?

You mean that 20% was all that ran out of the filter when you dumped it? That sounds about right, most of the filter's oil capacity is soaked up in the filter media, you'd have to crush is or leave it inverted overnight to get much more oil out of it. My answer above was just about how far down...

    Full Oil Filter?

Depends on how long the truck has been sitting after shutting it off. If you take it off right after shutdown, oil may spill out of it, if you wait until it cools off, it'll be about 75-80% full.

    Bye-Bye...

I also have a Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel hitch I don't need anymore, new truck has a factory 5th wheel hitch in it. It's the aluminum version that mounts to the gooseneck ball, weighs less than 35 pounds, lift it with one hand. They're about $795 new I think, $400 plus the ride, or local can...

    Bye-Bye...

Greg bought the filters, so they're gone, if anyone wants a custom fit windshield heat shield, I still have that. It's one made for the trucks with the sensor pod behind the rear view mirror, but it will work on trucks that don't have that as well. Someone give me $15 plus the postage and I'll...
