NV4500, anyone recommend a rebuilder in New England?

If anyone has experience with a better than average rebuilder in the North East I would love to know.

Thoughts on purchasing a new Ram 2500 CTD

Just take into consideration that the 68RE auto trans has 2 overdrives. I feel the factory engineers make the best choice for a general use truck. Unless your driving is predominantly towing with heavy trailers, I would go with stock ratios. Also note that if the air ride is still too rough...

Thoughts on purchasing a new Ram 2500 CTD

You will love the exhaust brake. Look close at the optional air ride - You can lower the truck when you want and no matter how heavy the load, it will ride the same height (won't look overloaded to the DOT). Get the 5th wheel prep package if you plan on a goose neck or 5th wheel trailer. Factory...

Look what I found in my MOPAR ball joint box

Yes, I am looking for a rotted out F350 to do the conversion. Cheap parts are probably the only good thing about the rust belt. A friend has a fleet of that range F350s, we go back and forth all the time about which is better. It was a nice jab to ask for a 1-ton Ford front axle so I can covert...

Are these wheels 2nd gen? why dont they fit?

Trying on some aluminum wheels. I was told they are 2nd gen, but they hit the spindle at the tie-rod end boss. Any info would be appreciated.

Look what I found in my MOPAR ball joint box

Doing ball joints on left side of 1998 12v. Ordered OEM ball joints and when I opened the box, their marked FoMoCo. Must be a division of Chrysler. Why can't I swap the manual locking Ford hubs too????

Fuel mileage on 98 12v auto with CA emissions (EGR) ?

I have had four 1st gens that got about 15 to 18mpg. Figured the same the 2nd gen but was concerned with that intrem California EGR system and what effect it had if any.

Fuel mileage on 98 12v auto with CA emissions (EGR) ?

I bought a 98 12v in CA and contemplating driving across country. Although it has 260k miles, it still has the CA emissions with the EGR. Does anyone have any experience on how I can expect this to effect the fuel mileage? It is a shortbed x-cab, auto, 3.5/1 axle ratio, stock tires, 4x4, no...

    Rear differential service

One thing I do is to remove the (magnetic) plugs regularly and clean off the debris so they can collect and hold more. Whether you change the oil or not.
