I do not want to defend Bosch pricing structures as I agree that the aftermarket prices are too high. But this is a general problem.
Big car manufacturers are fighting down the prices to a level that often times the suppliers are hardly making money on the parts they sell to them directly...
Hi together,
we recently received an interesting set of core injectors. They looked like OEM Bosch but were chinese copies. After talking to the customer he had them for 5 minutes in the engine and experienced a very bad running truck, so he pulled the trigger on BBI remans. We investiated his...
Yes you can definitely use the Stage 0.5s with stock tuning and they will work great doing so.
Chris, thank you for posting the number, so they really have installed a MY4.5 nozzle on those 007 injectors.
It is not the same nozzle as on the 238 injector but the nozzle that is used on the...
Cool... that is really great new for you... so get them replaced and all is good.
Again, there is a lot more different than just the nozzle.
If you want you can take a picture of the nozzle showing the number on it and I can tell you what nozzle was installed
The 007 injectors have a 143 degree spray angle anyways but not the 124 degree like the 238s. But I would not really worry about the spray angle as you definitley can use 143degree injectors with MY4.5 pistons. The other facts are what should make you worry about using them.
And Bosch does not...
There are so many things that can be done wrong in the remanufacturing process if you do not exactly know what you are doing.
But that eccentricity is not one of them.
The valve seat is grinded into the valve piece at Bosch, it has nothing to do with the remanufacturing process as it can not be...
The main difference of the 1400bar setup is, that the valve spring force is adjusted to a lower value. So if you are driving at 1600bar the injector has less force left to close its valve seat.
So there is a high risc of longer and unstable injection events (bigger injection quantities and high...
Thank you very much... I really appreciate it... you will not be disappointed
If you purchased MY4.5 injectors you should not have got the 007 injector as they have the MY03 spray angle of 143 degree.
If you need to proof that the 007´s are not for your application you can use the Bosch...
I am not sure why they are still producing that 007 injector. Especially as there is a newer design of that injector which is 0445120212 that should have replaced the 007 from what I know.
But I now found out that the customer order number is on the magnet retaining nut. So it seems like that...
Hello Eric,
I think i have overread in the chat that you have a 325HP engine....
From the production date I was very sure it has to be a MY03 but those were only available up to 305HP. So you definitely have a MY4.5+ engine then.
The injection rate seemed low to me also, as OEM MY4.5 injectors...
Yes that was very similiar in that DAP thread in Cumminsforum. The difference is that the injector in CF was I think 15+ years old and this one from Injectors Direct has a very actual production date. My best guess is that those 007 injectors are a lot cheaper than MY03 injectors and they also...
This number says it is the injector 0445120007.
You should not use that injector in a Dodge RAM application.
This is a Cummins injector for a EEA application (European Engine Alliance) used f.e. in Iveco trucks. I was not aware of the fact that this injector is still in production in that design...
238 is the correct number.....

If your goal is not to get more power or better efficiency because of better injectors, I would also do it like Cerb said and keep them as long as they do not cause any issues.
2005 trucks have the later pattern, so the 124° spray angle. VCO nozzle with 5 holes.
You can use both injector types...
Here a comparison of the two different piston bowls with the two nozzle spray angles to get a better idea of why you can use MY03 injectors in MY4.5 trucks

And here the emission test results...
