    Thanks for the replies, all. I'll try a new pad and also the adhesive recommendations. I have no idea what clutch was put in, but will look at the SouthBend setup.

    The cover slipping off the pedal, itself, is also an issue. God forbid the cover tears off and I'm down to trying to shift with my shoe on bare metal.
