I have thought about it (water temp), but i don't have any leaks, drained & flushed system this summer w/ no signs of oil or any other problems with the cooling system. Just to make sure, I think I will order a mechanical water temp gauge, and see exactly what I get for water temp.
The sending unit is on the filter housing, and I have used 2 different brand gauges & sending units, both showed close to same temps. The oil level is good. Talked w/ Dodge mechanic, he doesn't have a clue want could be wrong. Might end up at the Cummins shop.
I have been having a problem w/ my oil temp getting hotter over the past few months. It used to run about 225 degrees, now it is over 260 degrees.
I have changed oil, filter, swapped out temp gauge & sending unit, to no avail. Oil pressure is around 40-50 lbs.
The water temp stays constant...
Hey,
I have done some searching of the forums & haven't found much info on remote oil filter kits. Amsoil seems to be popular. And the precharger they make seems like it may be a good idea. I am just wondering what others have used with good luck?

Hi
I have a '99 RAM w/ a Mark III conversion package. I had a lil fender bender & am in need of a replacement running board/fender flare on the drivers side of the rear fender/ box.
Mark III is out of business and there isn't much in Wyoming as far as salvage yards. I know there must be some...

Yeah, my probe is in the filter housing. I will check my connections, I may even have another sending unit around. That would be an easy fix if that was all there was to it.
I guess I may need to be concerned as it runs at 245 pretty much all the time. The water stays around 190, and has never changed. I only have 70,000 miles on the truck and cannot imagine why the temps would be so high without other signs of heat or failure.
Hey,
I installed an engine oil temp gauge a coupla years ago. During highway pulling I used to run around 220-230 degrees F. Lately I have been hovering about 245-250 degrees. I haven't made any changes lately. I am wondering what temps others are seeing & any suggestions as to why my temps...
I have 57,000 milles on my '99 and it appears that I will be needing to replace the clutch pack on my differential. I did my aprx 15,000 mile gear lube change and it was black, ton's of goop on dipstick & drain plug (mag hytec). It had been shuddering on slow corners when pulling, now it does it...
My hitch is not a factory install, so my recall is not linked to my truck. The dealer did not supply me with any paperwork when I picked it up, as I had it put on as part of the purchase price. The http://dodgeram.info/tsb/recalls/872.htm site tells what part numbers are affected, but not how...
I had a Mopar hitch installed on my 1999 Ram at the dealer when I bought it new. It is starting to crack and I want to see if it is on the accessory recall list. However, I cannot figure out if the part number is on the visible sticker on the hitch or if it is stamped some place that I am...
