I've been here 18 years. Watched the forum grow with great people in the beginning. They all left, disheartened, as did I. Sometimes we got together and even formed another site for a while. It was good but people had lives to live and we drifted apart. Some even bought chevys!
After a long...
Fleetguard AF's bad? Not a chance - you'll never convince me of that and I have no dusting (I'm sure that's next). Every single turbo I've seen had some minor discoloring on the blades that could be wiped away. Every. Single. One.
And I can tell the difference between dirt and soot.
I dont know about "shouldn't" but there is. One place you can see it is on the turbines/fins. There's also soot drawn into the HVAC system - pull out the fan and take a look.
Some exhaust circulates around the entire vehicle at times and it gets sucked into the eng. It would defy all logic if...
I feel completley differently. I'd like a new truck but they can't survive the duty cycle mine thrives in and 2 reputable shops told me the new ones aren't nearly as reliable. Judging by what I read and the experience of guys I know that own them, I believe them.
Yes. it occasionally needs...
Just curious, why a key-on power supply? My mirrors work with the key off.
I kinda wish I had it to do over. I would like to have the power folding mirrors but years ago I bought OEM tow mirrors and had them painted - so I'm kinda stuck.
I wish I had asked about that. I think junk yards have sales where you can get a door for $50~$75 but from what they tell me, quad cabs are hard to keep in stock. Not sure what people do with them but they dont last long in the yard.
Thanks for the offer but the door itself is different so the newer ones wont fit. Dodge must have had some huge reason for going to all the work to make this tiny change!
Thanks again, I appreciate the effort.
Scott
I will Scott, just wanted to hit a couple of local joints first. I've got some other stuff going on for the next few days but I will give those fellows a call.
Thanks again,
Scott
Thank you very much gentlemen!!
But this just keeps getting better...
It turns out Dodge must have hated this part and rediseigned it. They actually changed it for the 2003 model year, from the design they used on the 2002 1500 quad cabs (first 3rd gens). My truck is a very early build (aug...
Body shop messed up this belt strip and I want to replace it. There's a screw at the left end but I dont know how to get the rest of it off. It's discontinued (according to dealer, who didn't give me a P/N) so I need to pull one form the salvage yard. Problem is, I don't know what all I need to...
You'll likely get both kinds of answers.
I replaced mine because I wanted to do it when it was convenient to me and not during a family trip. I go out of my way to ensure no breakdowns and so far, I haven't had one in 30 years.
