    Yet another GAUGE query...

Real nice instrument cluster Dean. Did the new pod do away with the handle for helping those short drivers up? It does not appear in the photo.

    48RE upgrades and order info

Bill... good point. Problem is I don't think much of the use of the truck will be actually towing. Most of the miles will probably be without a load. If it were to be used mainly towing, you're right... the 4. 10s would be the way to go. The Teton will likely set in one spot most of the time...

    Yet another GAUGE query...

Holy mackerel!! I hope I don't have to pull the dash! I will have the taupe interior so sounds like color will not be a problem. Jengle... did you do a step-by-step writeup and submit it to TDR on the installation of the intrument pod? That would be useful for others of us who want to do...

    Sad turn of events.

Justin... I'm repeating a post I placed here for you and your parents a couple of days ago. I don't know if you've seen it, but your recovery is important, and I want to be sure you see this information, which offers some REAL HOPE for your recovery. You all hang in there. We're praying for you...

    Yet another GAUGE query...

I'm glad to hear the combination of 48re and 3. 73 rear end does exist! The DC website is not all that user friendly in my estimation since I have been unable to get the correct combination to make the 3. 73s stick. I'd like to find "my truck" at one of the dealers across the country rather...

    Yet another GAUGE query...

Hey Jengle... I'd like to look at your gauge setup, but alas, I'm way out on the "left coast. "... Oregon! We have similar taste though, and I am about ready to buy the same truck you have ... 3500 SRW HO except with the 48re and 3. 73s. I have 2 questions for you... 1. Are you happy with the...

    48RE upgrades and order info

Thanks Bill for that extensive reply. I think I'll go with a conservative position on the e-brake and wait til I need it for heavy towing in the hills. For now I'm willing to wait and see if the factory supports the brake with the 48re. I'm planning on getting a 33 foot Teton which is on the...

    48RE upgrades and order info

You boys seem to know what you're talking about on the e-brake issue, so I'm going to jump on and see if you can help me out. I'm driving a'96 12 valve 2500 4wd EC with 255,000 mi, and I'm about to make the leap into a new 04 3500 HO SRW 4wd QC LB for towing a new 5th wheel. BUT...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Trans Problems

The "rip-off" is what they do best, unless you have a track record with a good one. I have a friend who has done some transmission work, so we'll probably get the '96 back in shape together. I appreciate your encouragement.

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Trans Problems

Joe G... . How are things in Eureka? I haven't been through there for years. Nice town. I'm in Depoe Bay, Oregon. I have a feeling that at 255,000 miles the transmission is "drifting off into rebuild land. " I may get by for a while yet using the OD lockout. I'm not towing or hauling any loads...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Thermostat help

gpuller... Thanks for the step-by-step. As soon as I can pick up a new stat I'll do just that. With 255,000 miles on my '96 I guess it's time! I am assuming you bought the Cummins thermostat. If not please advise. The others seem to be getting better results with it. I have a Cummins p/n...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Trans Problems

Hey I'm new at this, but I have a transmission problem. Is this the place to put it? I have a '96 2500 AT with 4:10 rear end. I'm getting a gritty grinding sound when in OD. I thought it might be transfer case noise because I was getting quite a bit of noise from the 4wd shifter, but oil is good...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Thermostat help

Hey guys, I've read your posts. My temp fluctuations are such now on my '96 that sometimes the gauge doesn't ever get warm and I get no heat from the heater. Sometimes it goes up to 190 and stays, other times it goes up and drops unexpectedly to about 140 or so. What d'ya think... will an new...

    Sad turn of events.

Justin I am a TDR member and just saw Justin's page. My heart goes out to him and his family. I may have some good news that may help him recover. Last year I was introduced to some technology that was developed in the 1930s by Dr Royal R. Rife in which he discovered the cause of most known...
