    Turbo R&R Halp!

Status update! Left Maine, toured "Caape Caad", now in Hudson River Valley. Pleased to report a quiet ride, and much happier "Nagravator". Could be subjective opinion, feels like turbo comes on a little stronger?!?!

68RFE How long will it last?

A little late to this thread, but here's my $.02. I bought a used 07.5, it had 66k on the clock. Don't know if the previous owner had a programmer on it tho' I suspect so. Drive shaft was bowed, and a couple of suspicious wires were under the hood after the dealer told me to be wary of...

    Turbo R&R Halp!

Halfway through our New England tour this summer. Have a exhaust whistle (leak) in the very back of port #6. Bought the new stuff while staying with friends in Maine, thought a nice Sunday would be a good day to take it apart and replace every thing from gaskets to hardware! I have tried every...

    P0740

TE, I have just experienced the same issue. Presently in TX, working our way back home (NC). Noticed engine speed increasing when going up small grade, (against 25 mph headwind), but vehicle speed remained steady (65mph,cruise on, 12k 5er). Indeed, got both p0700 and p0740 codes on my reader. Is...

    Short Bed, Long Term Damage

Had the 6.7 when we met in Columbus! We went to AK in 2014. 18k miles, 5 mos. toured most of the National parks on the way back. Did the Alaska trip with a 31 ft. Have 35 now. We spent January in SW FL, just spent a couple of weeks on SO. Padre Isl TX. Working our way back home now. Just earned...

    Tires! Tires! Tires!

Thanx for the "Heads Up" Snoking. I'll be sure to watch for any torquing or looseness. They appear to have beefed up the spring trunnion and shackles as well, but I'll watch it all the same.

    Tires! Tires! Tires!

We have recently traded up in 5'ers from 30ft to 35ft. This one came with 3" blocks on the axles and 16" and tires (finally)! The mix of tires and the date codes concerned me as we are planning a 5-8k trip this winter starting around new years. It had 2 BCT LT's, a Heritage, and Firestone LT...

    Output shaft seal

Update! Took the drive shaft to a different driveline outfit. Cut the ends off, rewelded, balanced and put new Ujoints in, said " those welds were crap"! I also removed the transfer case tailshaft housing and placed it on the slip joint. It had .02-.03" of slop. Ordered a new bushing and seal...

    Safe tire age?

I too have just recently purchased a used 35 ft. 5'er. It has a mix of 16" LT's. The codes indicate mid to late 2011. The tread indicates little use, the sidewalls are clean and smooth. Do the LT's age at the same rate as the ST's? I typically cruise at 65 mph both for tire safety and because...

    Turn up the heat!!

Thanx, I saw a bunch of 1500 watt units at wally world and was wondering if ceramic or resistance coil was better for a small confined space. Sounds like it doesn't make a difference as long as they shut off when turned over.

    Output shaft seal

I just stopped by the dealer, the Service Advisor and a mechanic sez, the transfer case has to be split to service the bearings and bushings!? I got pretty excited when I saw the $60 price for the once in a lifetime tool!!!!

    Turn up the heat!!

We are heading south in a couple of months before the real cold starts here in NC. But would like to get a small effective electric heater for our 34 foot 5er. Who among us has an opinion and or experience with too few or too many BTU?

    Output shaft seal

I have a vibration that comes on about 70mph. Changed all of the UJ's new drive shaft (old one had a bow in it). I now see a slight sling of transmission fluid at the rear tailshaft seal, and can shake the yoke a fraction of an inch in all directions. Can that bushing and seal be replaced with the...

    A call to NC TDR'rs

This is a call to anyone in central/eastern North Carolina that may know of a good body shop. As you can see by my sig I have a short bed truck. Earlier while towing our first 5'er I got caught in some bad places to maneuver and dented the C pillar around the rear window (both sides!!)...
