DEF is not caustic. At all. It’s pH is neutral. It can corrode carbon steel after prolonged exposure. It is not harmful and will not eat your hand off. Pump DEF and box DEF is all exactly the same product.
Yep roll ups are great. Just keep the tracks lubed and you’re good to go.

Here’s our medium rescue on our 2009 chassis. Oh and to add, it’s not deleted. Still has the DPF and EGR fully intact. Though I’m working on the chief to let me delete it.

I am an EVT as well as a captain in my local department. We have a 2009 Ram 5500 set up as a medium rescue. We cover a fairly large area as well. We have had excellent service out of this truck. Zero issues with the drivetrain and truck. We did have to add an extra leaf to the spring pack...
My truck idles a lot but it also gets driven and used a lot. When I know I’m idling for more than about 5 minutes I use the high idle function. That prevents cylinder wash down as well as DPF temps up. Zero issues in 62k miles.

I had my drivers side do it to me last week. Went to bed and the next morning it started working again and hasn’t stopped since. But I did order a new set of led lenses in case it happens again.

I just left it under the hood. I’ve already got a lot of wires passing through the firewall for my siren, emergency lighting, and auxiliary lights.
I’ll say that I’m definitely impressed with the additional torque. The middle setting is very peppy and the top setting legitimately feels like...
Don, there are a couple reasons. First I’m mainly just playing around with it right now. I’m trying to run it for a decent period of time to get a good idea of what setting will yield the best mileage results. Secondly, I have a 4-Horse trailer that I pull at least once a month and haven’t...
Yep I’m over in Springfield. I feel ya.

Anything less than 40° is considered frigid temps here in Louisiana. And if flurries are in the forecast it’s full blown panic mode. But yes my manual also shows 0° as the minimum temp for conventional.

It’s worth noting that in the owners manual on my ‘15 it recommends 15w40 conventional for operating temperatures above freezing and 5w40 synthetic for colder temperatures. I run it all year but that’s more because I tend to do a lot of idling and a fair amount of towing and running hard. I...
Amber is full time braking. When you let off the accelerator the EB kicks in to reduce speed. This is like a conventional brake function.
Green is Auto mode. It’ll modulate the EB to maintain your speed on a Hill. And it’ll also engage fully when you apply the service brakes to slow the truck...
I have it on my truck and have been very happy with it. Slight MPG increase so far. Maybe 1 MPG or so. Noticeable power increase especially on the top setting.

A lot of folks run 295/70r18 tires with no rubbing on stock wheels and no lift. That was the route I was headed before I bought a set of OEM 17” wheels.
I got 16k out of my HTs and I was close to the wear bars. I swapped for a set of stock size Wrangler Duratracs and have generally been very pleased with them. I’m right at 30k on them and could probably make it to 35-40k but I don’t like running tires that long. They are a little noisy but not...
