Until they choke it down with emissions control stuff, making it expensive to maintain, and unreliable. Then, a V8 gasser might be the better choice. Who knows, miracles might happen and they might product a winner.
I've heard, on other sites, major issues with random gremlins. When it was all said and done, it was that several fuses weren't seated fully. Something to check regularly. Jeep Wranglers have that issue too. It's a part of their routine check list.
FYI, you can replace the 1234yf with 134a. All manuals(joke) say not to do it, but I have done the swap, a few months ago, in another vehicle I own. It works be at. The adapters to do it are only around $10. My a/c blows just as cold with the 134a in it, and I've had zero issues.
I'm looking at possibly selling my 06 4x4, with under 190,000 miles on it. But, first year anything scares me. I've been down that road before. So, I might hold off for a.year or more, until the gremlins are exposed on the new 6.7, and its newly designed CP8 injector pump. They say it is over...
Strictly for the engine. Not performance. The less exhaust being pumped back into the engine, the longer it will last, and the fewer parts will be clogged up. It doesn't matter how new the engine is, if it has and EGR on a Diesel engine, it will eventually cause problems. Always has.

But now they make the same hill, without dropping down several gears, and overheating the engine. Better to have and not need than need and not have. At least that has been my motto on several things.
