I am not sure which flywheel I have. I am still driving the truck right now. Just want to be as prepared as possible to minimize downtime. I will drop it down and post back. It may take a little time. Thanks for the help.
Its time to replace my clutch and I am looking for some input. I am not sure if the clutch I have matches my signature or not. I bought the truck from a former member who I am not in contact with anymore. I copied his signature and pasted it to mine. I do know that he replaced the clutch right...
Sorry for not updating sooner. After two days of tracing wires and testing power I finally went back to autozone and demanded a new starter. Installed it and truck fired right up. Very frustrating that I wasted all that time just to find out that even though the starter tested ok it was bad all...
Would there be a reason for pulling too much power? Starter tested out fine. Also, clean connection at solenoid. Could it possibly be internal. I have continuity between solenoid post and ground. I don't know if that is normal or not. Thanks for the reply.
I got in the truck yesterday and it started but cranked very slow. I pulled both batteries and had them tested. Both failed so I replaced them. Still had same problem so I pulled starter and had it tested. It also failed so I replaced that too. After I replaced the starter there was a click then...
I am not sure. The clutch was installed 6 years ago before I bought the truck by a former TDR member. After I bought the truck I just copied the signature. Is there anyway to find out?
Well I ended up bleeding the system on chasis and it seemed to help a little bit but not much. I bought a new slave and master cylinder, but have not had time to install. I have not been driving the truck a whole lot since the problem started, but today when I went to merge onto the freeway I...
Awesome video and info! I will give this a try and report back. Might take a couple of days. Still driving truck, runs good but just a totally differen't pedal feel. Thank you for the help.
Did the test drive, and no slippage. Good news? Looking through the service manual on how to remove slave cylinder, and cannot find it. Can I just remove the 2 nuts and pull it out? Or do I have to go through more steps? I do not want to drop this transmission again if I don"t have to. Slave and...
6 yr old clutch with probably about 60 or 70k miles on it. I drive the truck to work and back every day. Clutch has been perfect since the day it was installed. I hopped in the truck to go to work yesterday and immediately noticed that it took less force to press down the pedal. Normally when I...
Wow! Glad I posted that. I thought the track bar was the curved bar connecting the shock towers. Oops! There is alot of movement in the track bar. So if I find a hex nut that fits do I just run it on with an impact and make it really tight? Any idea on the size? Thanks for the clarification
Thanks for the reply. I have no play at all on either wheel. I just replaced left hub assy and both sides are tight and spin freely with no wobble or grab. What are the signs of a bad track bar? It looks ok to me. The sway bar links are very loose but I dont know if that is normal or not. Also...
Bad front end wobble at 35-45mph. If I turn the steering wheel slightly it goes away. Drag link was a little loose so I replaced it and no difference. Wobble goes away almost completely at higher speeds. Nothing seems loose when I raise the wheels off the ground. U joints are good. Tie rod ends...
switch seems fine, and no I only inspected the vaccum lines for the cad, but I had good vaccum at transfer case switch. Lost vaccum between switch and shift motor.
I put the truck on jackstands and front driveshaft spins when in 4wd. Applied vaccum to shift motor and it works fine. Could not find any bad spots in vaccum line and have good vaccum at transfer case vaccum switch, but little at shift motor. Pulled switch off of transfer case, plunger seems to...
