simmadownnow!! Guys, I appreciate everyone's opinions, but I'll pass on the ******* match. Unfortunately, I don't have a local boy like Goerends in my area. I simply made my decision based on web info and warranty. It sounds like my second gear band is toast so a billet input, built transmission and...
OK as I posted earlier I ordered the ATS towing VB. I informed ATS of my concerns about second gear not enaging very hard at WOT and they recommended I adjust the external torx screw. I broke the jam nut loose turned in the set screw and..... the damn thing never really go hard to turn in. I...
I decided to heed warnings of mixmatching brands of tc and vb. I went with the ATS towing VB. I will also adjust the 2nd gear bands and see how she does. I hate to keep throwing money at an unresolved problem. Hopefully the damn thing will hold second gear hard enough to put down some reasonable...
ats has a 100k warranty and it doesn't say anything about voiding the warranty if i change the VB. I purchased the ats because i felt it had the most innovative TC around. I considered it the "clutch" of my powertrain and the VB would be my "short-throw shifter". I didn't worry about...
are any VB adjustable or are they set it and forget it? Any way to guage firmness. I searched the forums and found nothing. Something like... .
stock is x psi at idle and xx at wot
ats tow is blash
ats race is blah
nadp is... .
line up some numbers or feedback. I want to get this thing...
OK. I'll order a valve body on monday. Any suggestions? I don't want to slam gears... just firmer more precise shifts. If that doesn't put a smile on my face then I'll save for a complete transmission minus the then already purchased TC and VB. I don't think the quality products of ATS, DTT, georends...
yep, that's it. I was told that a TC alone would markebly change my shifts and a VB would further firm up the shifts. I have no problem ordering a VB from any of the reputable comanies out there... I just don't want to crank up my transmission pressures on a failing transmission. My tanny shifts fine...
I am runninng a 04. 5 with 3. 73, 285 BFGs, 48re, edge Hot juice, afe filter with ATS arc intake, center pod gauges and mbrp exhaust. My best time with standard juice was 0-60 in 7. 7 seconds. I upgraded to HOT juice and saw a 8% slip on my first run and 92% backdown. My transmission has never made it...
The transmission was just rebuilt 1 month ago. I filled it with 4. 5 qts of the GM specified syntorq fluid. ($16 per quart). There were no signs of leaking aside from the front input shaft. The front seal was melted. My driver said it was shifting great and then the clutch just went to the floor. If...
My clutch went out in my work truck, a 98 p30 2wd with a chevy 6. 5 with a nv4500. The tow guy hooked up and towed my truck 24 miles at 40mph. He did not disconnect the driveshaft. Needless to say when I put a new clutch in and when i went to put the transmission back in the input shaft literally fell...
