Need a Diesel Mechanic in VA

Update: Yesterday I picked up my truck from D&J Automotive in Portsmouth VA. Based on my experience with this repair, I would highly recommend them to anyone in the area looking for service. They swapped out my turbo actuator and my truck is back to normal again. The actuator I purchased was...

    Banks Monster Ram Intake

All good points points for sure. My truck is out of warranty so no worries there. No emissions testing where I’m at either. Throwing in the following mods and one repair very soon (3 of which are in route). First is replacement of my turbo actuator which has failed me. Almost did a...

    Banks Monster Ram Intake

That’s hilarious . I have one particular neighbor I’d like to do that to 7 days a week. I had a nasty drone in cab with my previous 01’ (miss that truck). Hoping drone won’t be too bad with this new exhaust. Loud on outside of cab is fine though

    Banks Monster Ram Intake

Amen brother....rock those shiny tips! I apologize for taking your post the wrong way. Thread just headed in a different direction that I expected - I must be getting sensitive in my old age :). My 5” exhaust with a bright and shiny 6” tip is on the way. Neighbors won’t like it though.

    Banks Monster Ram Intake

Again, I posted this in an effort to be helpful, not to start some sort of debate on whether or not you should mod your truck. To each their own I say. I’ve done a few mods on every truck I’ve owned and never once regretted it. And since you brought it up...I like shiny exhaust tips. Why...

    Banks Monster Ram Intake

I intend to do some mods, but stay emmisions legal. Mods/tuning only for a slight bump in horsepower and transmissions tuning. My intention for the post was to let guys like me know that if they were interested in an intake elbow, but did not want to delete emissions, then a product is on...

    Banks Monster Ram Intake

Yes...I’m looking at adding a tune to mine as well. Leaning towards the EZlink, but haven’t decided yet.

    Banks Monster Ram Intake

I spoke to a Banks sales rep last week who told me they are soon to unveil their Monster Ram Intake that can be used on non-delete Rams. Currently they only offer their intake for deleted or “race only applications”. I asked the rep for an ETA and was told very soon, definitely this year...

Need a Diesel Mechanic in VA

Well fellas...as much as I wanted to get a new turbo, I opted to go the cheaper route of purchasing an actuator. I appreciate the advice y’all provided. After a bit of research, I bought a remanufactured actuator from BD —$595 + $250 core. Should arrive next week. After arrival, I’m going...

Need a Diesel Mechanic in VA

Update: Took your advice and had D & J automotive take a look at my truck. Their findings say it’s a bad actuator afterall. The price quote they received for OEM was $3300! D & J obviously did not advise me to go that route. Instead I’m now in search of a new or reman actuator. I found...

Need a Diesel Mechanic in VA

Exhaust brake no longer seems to work. Boost is minimal <10. Engine light on...don’t remember exact codes thrown, but all referred to turbo.

Need a Diesel Mechanic in VA

Hello...hoping one of you can turn me on to a trustworthy diesel mechanic in the Hampton Roads vicinity of Virginia. I’m looking to have my turbo replaced. I stopped by two performance shops here locally and neither of them filled me with confidence. Hope I’m posting this in correct spot...

    Rear Power Sliding window issues

I have this same problem .... and it only happens on unusually hot days. Window opens but won’t close. Window cools down, then it will close. I don’t use the window very often, but on those hot days, I don’t use it all. I will be keeping an eye on this thread - thanks.
