Need to order tires tomorrow. 18 k miles and these Firestone Transforce AT's aren't gonna get me through winter.
Looks like Michelin has two models, the LTX AT2 and the Defender LTX.
Which one to go with?
I thought they had a LTX MS/2 or something like that? Or is that a discontinued model?
Well maybe I need to change the name of this thread. lol
Went through the second highway mileage tank of fuel. This time with the cruise on 65 instead of 70-75 as mentioned before.
Stopped to get fuel before the fuel light came one...
562.8 miles
24.91 gallons
22.59 MPG (dash was showing 23.6...
It's a shame I couldn't have ran a whole tank full on that run before switching over to down town driving. I found with my old truck the computer would show high mpg early and then slowly taper down as you drove through the tank of fuel.
Well we made the next leg of our trip. Drove from Pigeon Forge, TN to Nashville.
I dropped the cruise control from 70/75 mph down to 65 mph.
I don't believe the dash so I will hand calculate in a few days when I top off to drive home.
Fuel gauge sitting on 3/4 tank. Should have taken the pic...
No sarcasm.
The new truck runs the exact same fuel mileage around town as my old truck. Given the taller tire, different gear ratios and less rpm logic to me says it should get the same or better highway mileage even considering the new emissions equipment. We're talking every bit of 500 rpm...
I've had this 2015 2500 for approx 9 months now, 12k miles on the odometer. Most all of my driving is around town and towing. Just yesterday we left for our family vacation so we got our first true highway miles.
Drove from Maryland to Pigeon Forge, TN with most of the miles down RT81. Drove...
Have had an issue with the uconnect 5.0 system. I use it to connect to my iphone 5s through bluetooth to play music that is stored on my phone.
The issue I have is the audio will mute down say 30 to 50% at times. The only way I can get the sound level to come back is to send myself an email...
So where is this disconnect your talking about?
I know for a fact the axles turn 100% of the time and are locked in to the hubs. So the front axle is still turning the axles the whole time, again parasitic loss.
I have had race car parts hard coat anodized and they haven't faded yet, also VERY tough against scratching. Regular anodize can and will fade with UV exposure. Anodize is a chemical process that essentially "stain's" the metal, soaks in to the surface a small amount.
I do not like powder...
You can't compare fuel mileage of a 2wd truck to a 4wd truck. Sure they offset the weight but that's only part of the story. What they didn't account for was the parasitic loss that turning the transfer case, front driveshaft and front axle create. Even when the truck runs in 2wd, the front axle...
I went from a 2003 to a 2015. I also needed more back seat room but most importantly more power towing. Hills just killed my old truck at WOT, the new truck just walks up them at only part throttle. Exhaust brake and tow mode take wear and tear off of both the truck and trailer brakes. I get a...
