I first found this forum in 2003 after I bought my used 2001 2500 QC CTD. It had 120,000 miles on it when I bought it in Dallas. I still have that truck, now it has 260,000 miles and still gets up and pulls anything I put behind it. BUT, the cab isn't big enough now, my kids are 10 and 11 and only getting bigger. AND, the 4th gen's have nice big 4 doors and a roomy cab. MY 2001 has NO smog B.S. the 2014 is FULL of exhaust crap. MY 2001 rides like it has NO suspension, the 2014 rides better than my wifes 300C,( I love the coil springs). So....what do I do? I'm not fan of the body of the 3rd gen's, and the cab isn't all that much bigger than mine. My 2001 gets 16-17 mpg all day long, how is it in the 4th gen? How many problems are you guys having with the exhaust filters? In 2001 the autotrans was crap, how are the new 6 spds holding up? I REALLY want a new truck for the cab space, and I guess I will have to put up with the emissions bull crap. And the 800 ft lbs of torque would be nice. So is it worth it? Any and all advice is welcomed. Thanks.
