    defrosting windshield

Well we made it to and from South Dakota with no winshield fogging(yay!) Didnt have the same sort of weather and the temperature variance alarm (wife) was sounding some but the recirc door in the outside air position appears to be a better choice than in recirc. Imthinking of finding a complete...

    Random nostart issue Software?

Well I have more data but no resolution, I'm in south dakota visiting and today its mid 20s with a 30+ mph wind and it's a hard no start. It had been starting pretty well, certainly well enough to live with most of the time just taking a couple key twists to get going, now it's just nothing but...

    defrosting windshield

Yeah Bruce, dexterity isn't really in my vocabulary however the govt spent alot to teach me the appropriate vocabulary when I was a young impressionable sailor.... sure wish the wife was still working so I could use that training as needed... Thanks everyone who contributed, I hope that I'll...

    defrosting windshield

Thanks guys. I've heard it can be done in situations but I'll probably do them all if I'm allowed to keep the truck. For now it's all fresh air all the time as I didn't see the screw until I get the door out which broke it... it appears someone tried fixing the broken door with epoxy before the...

    defrosting windshield

Well friends I have another clue to the inoperative recirc door.... the (incert explitive here) previous owners must have much preferred recirc mode and as such inserted an undoubtedly well engineered and factory authorized drywall screw through the door and into the housing.... I guess the...

    defrosting windshield

So it appears the recirc door is stuck in the recirc position... of course it is. Is there a way short of removing the dash and heater assembly to reposition it? Seems I read once about taking the glove box out. I guess I'll try to figure that out next Thank you gentlemen

    defrosting windshield

I do not have clearance lights, sorry for the confusion. There are no penetrations in the roof at all except the sat radio antenna above the rear window slider I've pulled the fan and the recirc door does. Not move. I'm looking up at the bottom of the dash as near as I can tell. There's the...

    defrosting windshield

No clearance lights or other roof penetrations except for the ones from the factory. The truck has a topper on the bed though if that matters. I haven't seen any indication of leakage from the slider but I'll look again when I empty the cab. I spent some time checking the recirc door operation...

    defrosting windshield

No clearance lights and I haven't noticed any leakage at the rear slider but haven't yet looked in earnest. I will today when I empty the cab. The truck has a topper on the back FWIW. I've checked the recirc door for operation in the past but not lately. So I'll get on that today as well as...

    defrosting windshield

wow, lots to digest, thanks guys. Yes I have a lot of stuff behind the back seat, in fact the back seat is down for the dog in his kennel but alot of stuff in there regardless so I guess I will clear it out and make sure the discharge vents are clear and functional. Thanks Bruce, I wouldnt ever...

    defrosting windshield

Mmmm thangs gents. The radiator is full full expansion tank is full but I'll keep an eye closely peeled for a core leak. I did run the compressor for a while but not extensively so I'll do that going forward and see if that helps. Meanwhile I wired up some muffin fans to augment the blower on...
