Thank you! Not sure if this Canadian company has anything for the ‘20s.

Unfortunately they don’t appear to show anything for the ‘20s of yet. Who knows, maybe in the future. Could also be worth contacting them.

Had the same failure on my 2011@77000km this past winter. Didn’t twist off pulley, or leak, but it got hot enough to create a fair amount of smoke. My wife was driving at the time, luckily a short distance from home.
Most likely u-joints.
Find a curb with a turn. Radio off, front windows down. Drive close to the curb making the turn. You should hear noise coming from the joints.
As for cost, no idea what it would be in USD.
My 2011 had a left side failure at 30000km, and I could hear and feel it every...
Happy to help.
Not sure if this was ever discussed on this forum.
Regular caliper service is pretty much a requirement with all newer vehicles now, regardless of manufacturer.
On a good note, since I’ve been servicing mine on an annual basis, I’ve had no more issues.
And I live in NW...
Common issue if you haven’t performed routine caliper service. Had the same problem with my 2011.
No issues since with mine since I’ve done routine yearly service.
All shops up here offer the service @ $40 per axle.
How often did you have the calipers serviced?
With the current caliper...
Continuation of the saga,
So today I call up a good friend who is also an auto technician. Probably the best technician I know. He’s current and knows his stuff. He works in a private shop, and I was unaware that they had a spanking new alignment machine.
An added bonus is that they offer free...
Easier said than done. Small town, only one FCA dealer. I'd have to investigate private shops to see who does good work, and then they probably wouldn't homour the warranty.
Greetings all,
Looking for some opinions and experiences with premature ball joint failures.
Vehicle background.
2011.5 2500HD 4x4 Crew
Total mileage 64540kms
This is not a hard driven vehicle. The odd tow/haul, mostly city, highway mileage.
Routine maintenance, including yearly wheel...
To quote the FSM (at least the Canadian version) if there is such. Extended temps below -18C/0F 5W-40 Syn recommended, -18C/0F and over 15W-40 Dino oil. I run 15W-40 Syn for the better flow characteristics at low temps. Matter of fact the 15W-40 Syn is only what the dealer uses. Key here is that...
Don't Over Think This
Don't over think this. I'll pipe in from Northern Ontario, where temperatures can regularly get down to -30C/-22F for weeks at a time. -40C/-40F is also not uncommon. I've never in 6 1/2 years had a cold start issue. Use the remote start, and let the grid heater do it's...
I'm going to go with the later, a screwed up install of the transmission overlay harness.
As stated previously the issue first reared it's head after the recall was done. The first time this October, then again a couple of days ago.
In October the O2 sensors and O2 module were replaced...
Just to update, as of this morning, I have had some very interesting correspondence from S&B Filters, including the S&B owner himself. They want to get fully involved if necessary. I will post the details of the correspondence a bit later. Awesome customer service from S&B! :)
