Check engine light came on with DTC 0111 and P2509. Truck seems to run the same but pre heater runs longer even when truck is warmed up. What do think is broken?
No they did not do a pressure test. They told me they would not know if the solenoid would need to be replaced until they did the rebuild, which was not included in the price. The diagnosis was made solely on a test drive, computer hookup and the metal in the pan. The shop did not say they could...
Awhile ago I posted about having trouble with the transmission shifting out of 1st gear. i was not driving the truck much so I did not look into it real hard. To recap, I have an 01, 315k on the original transmission. Right now its being driven around town, towing a 7k gvw trailer about 40 percent of...
Im getting ready to do some heavy towing on a regular basis, 24K gooseneck trailer. I understand a 3500 dually would be the best to use but I want to use my 2500 2004.5 4 wheel drive for now. I know they have made a 3500 single which as far as i know was only an extra leaf in the rear...
The alternator and the batteries were bench tested. I checked the volts on the batteries with the truck running and they were at 12 volts. when I put the multi-meter on the alternator it jumps to 19 then displays 0. but I might not be checking it correctly. The meter is set at 20DC and Im...
The voltage on my 01 keeps dropping. It runs for about 5 minutes at around 12 volts then drops down to 8. Both batteries tested good and so did the alternator. The truck continues to run. What else should I look for?
The problems that are described with the wipers in the thread you sent me are the same as I am having with my 04. 5 but I will see if they apply to my 01. Either way it was a big help. Thanks for the info.
Wipers will not return to park on my 01 when shut off. The dealership said to put in a new wiper motor. I got an aftermarket from autozone. The wipers still will not park. Is their another part to replace?
According to the dealership, Chrysler does not have the techs measuring the psi they measure the fuel volume. They told me that the volume is flowing within the proper levels. So I'm of the understanding that the fuel pressure means nothing and we are all wrong for monitoring it (note my...
Thank you both. The intake lift pump went in when I was less educated and the dealership never told me that they were relocating the lift pump anyway. I will have to look into the pump to see if its the correct one.
My 2001 was getting around 600 miles per tank and 19-20 MPG. After the dealership installed a new injection pump and the in-tank lift pump, I'm now getting around 15MPG and a noticeable decrease in power. I did not install a fuel pressure gage until later but currently I barely have 9psi at idol...
Thanks everyone. Im not sure if Im more educated or more confused (haha). I have a better point to start from and understand better when i go to the mechanic. I can still drive the truck so Im npt sure how soon it will be repaired.
