Wanted to tap into people experience on different model years to see if anyone can help.
My steering wheel/interior looks like this:
What I would like to do, if possible is to upgrade my steering wheel to the newer look. In particular I'd like the plastic bezel covering the 3 spokes to look...
They obviously have no idea what's going on so the test makes absolutely no sense. What happens is the plunger in the shift interlock solenoid gets stuck in the retracted position when hot. This can happen because it's either hot outside or the solenoid itself gets heated up by holding the break...
A silly question: when you cleaned the tube, did you remove it from the exhaust manifold? I use carb cleaner and sprayed from one end to make sure it comes out the other. Also clean the orifices on the exhaust manifold and the thermostat housing.
For good measure pull the boost sensor on the...
I live in California and deleted my 2012 using EFI Live (from one of the most reputable tuners out there known for their customer service... Reminds me of a Sex Pistol tune...) and delete pipe (the one that removed the DPF and NOX trap but lives the cat in the downpipe). I got their flavor of...
As you research the topic, look into Veil G5. It's a special coating you apply to the front flat parts of the vehicle that reduce the reflictivity. Laser guns require a flat reflective surface in order to send back an accurate signal that can be processed to determine speed. In normal condition...
Ok. Looks like no fuel dilution at all. Was it deleted at all?
Also, I changed it because EVIC said so: so I get 5K miles according to EVIC. That was with some towing, but also a bit of run around town to get remodeling supplies as well as commuting to work and sitting in SoCal traffic...
My turn!!!
Here's the latest report on my 2012
The usual fuel dilution, but I continue to think it's within the "normal" range for per-SCR trucks. Nothing seem entirely.
As a side note, this oil change I switched filter from the Stratapore LF16035 to the Venturi Combo LF9028 (that's the one...
On my 2012 I have installed the Mopar Severe Duty fuel filter that adds a frame mounted pre-filter and I wanted to report that the Mann Hummel PL250/1 works perfectly as an alternative.
I also wanted to report that the Fleetguard LF9028 combination oil filter fits the 6.7 just fine: that's the...
Finally got time to install it today and it looks great. Very clean look and love the all aluminium construction. I'm a little disappointed by the cargo manager as it is plastic and not as rigid as I would have hoped.
I had to fizzle with the tracks a little to get them true or it would bind...
I normally try to fill up at the half way mark of the "SAFE" and by the time I change the oil is usually up right around the top of the "SAFE". If I put in 12 quarts I'm above full (other seems to observe the same) so I add 11 quarts that sets me half ways. From half SAFE to top seems to be half...
In my case the fact that everything locks together was a plus; based on your needs, what I'd suggest is to check with Roll-N-Lock as for select trucks they have a kit that allows the gate to lock independently from from the cover. Perhaps they have something similar for the Ram.
Jim, that's some good stuff you mention and speaks to how each solution has pros & cons. Thanks!
I got the boxed picked up at UPS the other day but haven't got a chance to fizzle with them yet...
